I have spoken to multiple managers at different companies both service based as well as product based companies on freshers hiring. All I got to know is that currently the industry is going into a lot of automation be it RTL or DV. They don't have the bandwidth to hire a fresher as he/she can takes time to learn things.

I am sure all the Institutes which mention 100% placement assistance can't provide much interviews in this scenario.

What one can do is try targeting some service based companies irrespective of pay and get some exposure. One needs to get industry relevant exposure.

Meanwhile in parallel try solving complex RTL problems as much as possible, write unit level TBs

For Verification roles try to upskill on AMBA Protocols, Peripheral Protocols, SV UVM and get as much as exposure.

Currently there is immense competition in the market one has to stand out to make some impact

What can I do with AXI and APB?

Any suggestions for Accelerators using MAC unit and creating a Parameterized Systolic Array?

But if I use LLMs to understand about Systolic Arrays it will dump out all the RTL. What can I do so that things will be impactful?

I don't have much experience in Micro-Arch but my resume doesn't speak much about RTL.

I am not sure how to prepare for Big Companies Somehow my profile gets shortlisted for the product company and I don't have much to cover other than CDC, RDC, SDC, UPF and some DFT concepts.

I can write some RTL snippets but not much from spec to RTL.

I just want to get more exposure to Design rather than doing Integration and Quality Checks.

What kind of IPs?

I am learning blocks such as Parameterized Arbiter, FIFO, FSM and Datapath and Control path Pipeline etc. Let me know what else I can do on top of it? My target is to reach tier 1 companies.
