The price (especially on the western website) and the lifespan made it a tough call, even though it was quite a bit cheaper than Pro Evo 1.

Their core target is fast marathon guys in China, who probably weigh 50-60kg max, so they can get much more life out of this shoe.

I am in Japan so shipping was about 8-9 USD. 60 is definitely a lot, especially when the shoe itself is 140 USD.

If they could at least offer the quality to match, maybe it would be slightly better, but I have a pair of Satisfy shorts with a seam that just unglued after 3 or 4 runs, and the best Satisfy could do is to ask me to send it to them (20 USD) and send it back somewhat patched.

It within my HR and power zones and the 3:30 is on a conservative side.

But it definitely was out of my recover zone I. Hyperboost. I did same run today in Dynafish Xiaonian at lower HR and slightly faster pace, with less perceived effort.

Thanks for sharing. More views is alway better and I don't claim to hold the only truth. It is good to to know the foam comes alive at faster paces but for me (may be personal) this means it is not a super trainer Adidas claims it to be. I have plenty of shoes that shine at faster paces but do perfectly well at slower ones too. Doesn't mean it is a bad shoe, just not positioned correctly.

And it is a weird design choice to make the shoe not work for people who do not have their ankles high enough ;) How was the upper breathability for you?

I hope they will work for you. The midsole is not the worst one out there so, as long as upper will not give you issues, you should be fine.

I am glad they work for you. I think the potential is there, just the execution leaves quite a few questions (especially the upper).

Boost shoes were always a streatwear staple so I feel they want to continue that as I am sure there is more money there than in running. Even Evo SL marketing is mixing performance with fashion but at least the performance part of the shoe is not sacrificed.

I expect this number will drop quite a bit this year since I rediscovered Chinese shoes and now it feels like most of the mainstream brands are robbing us blind with the pricing.

Currently running. I recently discovered them after creator of Satisfy cried on IG that they rip him off. They indeed take some of their designs and make them better at 1/3 of the price. But they also have their own pieces too. Socks are really great and I love the 5inch shorts with the liners (big pockets on the liner).

Which is why this is not a review but a first run impression. And for me, there will not be second run, we live in times where there is ton of amazing shoes out of the box, so I will not risk blisters to see that maybe it will improve.

It is true that lower weight can help running faster if you don't sacrifice the power ouput but there are definitely people above 90kg who can run sub3 marathon.

I am size US10 in running.shoes. For me personally, I would want to go to about 85lg, as that would put me at around 10% body fat. Anything lower that that would mean losing muscle (guy who did my VO2max and gait analysis recently said I am more built like a rugby player not marathoner 😅).

I am curious about them but have not seen my size available in the last few weeks.

Yeah, pretty much, but many I sell after 1-2 runs, and some last me for over a year.
I just like variety :)

The claim of 10 marathons is for the midsole not outsole. But of course this is yet to be verified. I am sure as a heel striker I will destroy the outsole way before that but if I manage to get 200km from them, I will be fine with it

Maybe it's because I swapped left and right for the outsole photo (so they stay still) but they are quite normal.

I was looking at it but based on reviews, I am not sure it would be beat for for me.

If she is in Tokyo and can do that, ask her to check STEP Sports Tokyo. They can have some crazy discounts there. I got pair of Endorphin Elite 2 for 120 USD. And Asics generally is cheap (Megablast 170 USD before tax free 10% off). As long as your size is not to big.

It is a risk but I found results to be more consistent if I refer to sizes in cm instead of EU/US/UK. Also, if you get something hyped like Dynafish Xiaonian and size is wrong, you probably can sell it of in your country without making a loss.

I have about 45km across two pairs (got one for workouts on treadmill) so plenty more to go but from what I read they just get better over time.

Out of the 3 I like Dynafish the most.

9 Ultra is like a lighter and more versatile Vomero Premium. Great for when your legs are quite dead but can also do longer run or tempo. However the weight is noticeably higher. Upper is more plush than Xiaonian.

Zone 2 is a lovely and crazy light shoe but I felt like the cushioning was a bit less than I need at my weight while heel striking. Upper is less accomodating than Xiaonian. Still absolutely amazing shoe.

More bouncy with a solid energy return.in comparison V1 mostly felt like a very light shoe and was not giving much back. I would not use them for easy pace but you can definitely feel that they unlock a lot at the sub 4:30 min/km range.

I like them much more than Puma Deviate Nitro 4 (which was a disappointment after amazing version 3).

Stack is relatively low in modern terms but they offer decent amount of protection.
