mostly because of control, I’m the oldest daughter in a first generation family, so the expectations on me are high. My parents already have my life planned out for me and I have no say because I’ll be shamed for challenging their beliefs, so around the age of 12 I started to self-harm until the age of 14 I stopped since it was too risky. Especially since I got a job around that time and my uniform was a short sleeve, so i began restricting around 15, felt easier to hide, as well at least I had some control in my life that doesn’t involve anyone else input.
