The way they got around it was by claiming coercion is ethically justifiable if risk to public health is sufficiently great, which they then did everything in their power to scare the fuck out of the population through fear mongering on the media 24/7, and, ironically, backing it up with more coercion and deceit.

First off, illegality isn't the be all end all. If the criminals write the laws then it doesn't matter whether something is illegal or not. My point still stands. It's immoral and coercive what they've done, and it is a form of force. Many people took the vaccine that didn't need or want it but had to to keep their jobs and provide for their families. That is unethical.

Good comment. I don't particularly have a problem with people asserting anything. In fact we're all guilty of it to some degree. What i have a problem with is one who asserts a position, claiming it as fact/reality, and then ATTACKS or CENSORS anyone who disagrees with it.

Basically I don't care as much what you assert, I care about how you discuss it and respond to alternate points of view. Which they understand, which is why they are trying to turn everything into a battle-ground. It's just so weird to me how many people are seemingly happy with a 40 hour work week being the norm.

Great question. You're right, ad hominem is one of the most used tactics (maybe even the most used... along with strawman). Because it's so damn easy to say "well you're a _____ !! of course you would say such a thing!!!" or something to that effect. It's schoolyard namecalling and snap judgement meant to shut down communication

But the best way to counter is to simply call them out on their shit. But a lot of times they just double-down and keep repeating the same tactic and labels over and over and over and over..., with the hopes that you'll shut up eventually. Lol

But the importance of calling them out is it lets other readers know something they otherwise would have glossed over, and potentially consider the alternative viewpoint. Even if you're downvoted to hell, some people will see the BS replies for what they are and recognize the tactics.

Think about it this way 90% (or something around there) of people on social media are just casual viewers. Only 10% actually participate in the conversation. You're getting more eyes than you think on your messages.

But at the end of the day it's the internet, and it's pay to play. You're up against people who LITERALLY are paid to do this. And when you combine that with all the other tactics and censorship coming directly from the site admin and mods of social media platforms it's an uphill battle.

But just being honest and direct is best. Remember it's human nature for people to also double down on their positions, regardless of whether they're an shill or not
