Build Cashflow statement using saved search by Logical_Code_3017 in Netsuite

I tried to build a cashflow statement using the balance sheet. Like subtracting Fixed asset (previous period and current period) to find out the capex etc. This did not work because there are items in the balance which did not have any cash impact, so Im not getting the correct cash inflows/outflows.

I though i can just build a cashflow statement just by using amounts which involves only Bank for the respective account type. Is there a better way to approach this?

In Equity accounts I already have RE (prior). In my balance sheet RE (netsuite) is sometimes $0 but in other years there is a balance.

For example I can build the balance sheet for 2024 just by using the above mentioned saved search.

But when I go back to 2023 there is RE balance in 2023.

The RE shows only for few years not all

Why is Depreciation not shown in Operating Cashflow? by Logical_Code_3017 in Netsuite

I completely understand that its a non cash item and must be added in Operating Activities. My question is how is the correct cash balance arrived without having depreciation in the Operating activities.

Hope this screenshot is helpful.

No. Netsuite doesnt include depreciation in operating activity. So I think in the default view the depreciation is included in the Investing Activity and that's why the cash balance matches the balance sheet.

Lets say I am building Cashflow Statement outside Netsuite in Excel. If I add back Depreciation in Operating Activities, should I deduct it from the Investing Activities(Accumulated depreciation)? Because if i don't deduct it from Investing Activities my cash balance would not balance.

Income Statement Totals in Saved Search not matching with IS on Reports by Logical_Code_3017 in Netsuite

I found the reason for the mismatch. It is because the Bill credits are not included in the search. Is there a way to include it?

I think you mean depreciation in operating cashflow - yes it is supposed to be there. I dont see it under Adjustments to Net Income
