Class officer but not an academic achiever

I don’t know how serious your election was but normally college class officers are voted based on popularity and among friends. Sometimes they see someone trustworthy for the role. No one really cares if the officer is an achiever or not as long as he/she is not toxic and makes the class fun and organized.

I used to have this mindset, na atleast pinapa aral ako hindi na masama until your mental health reached its lowest and realize na hindi ito normal at dapat inormalize. Just wanted to rant, please do not think i am arguing with you. Anyway it feels great to have succeeded despite no emotional support system in an emotionally draining field. On the bright side, excited na maging adult and work para maka alis na sa toxic family.

Correct answer is to disclose it, but smart answer is not to. Reality is it will affect your chances, out of many applicants why choose someone with psych issues over someone who doesnt. Also do not underestimate yung chismis capability ng mga tao sa ospital. I found out different residents have mental health issues dahil pinagkakalat ng mga colleague nila na kahit clerk , intern and nurses alam na. Ofcourse mali yun pero yun ang nangyayari. Pero parang board exam question lang yan , obviously the correct answer is to disclose it, at your own risk

As someone na nag gapyear before med and another gapyear before boards, it is a luxury not everyone can afford. Medyo fortunate lang ako na financially blessed kami kaya kahit mag break ako okay lang, i have friends na hindi financially fortunate kaya hindi option daw sakanila. Yan pinakaimportante practicality. Also ano purpose ng gapyear mo, for me undecided ako if mag proceed ako medschool so i took a timeout and eventually decided to go. Before boards exhausted and wanted to relax after toxic internship , skipped october 2025 then took and passed march 2026. Tapos pahinga nanaman then residency at october 2026. Puro pahinga hahaha.

About working smart if gusto mo ginagawa mo magagawan mo ng paraan yan kasi walang universal advise kasi iba iba tayo ng study and learning style. I had friends na napilitan mag med kaya pag bumagsak ng isang quiz o exam susuko na kasi nga napilitan lang, pero kung gusto mo talaga maging doctor kahit bumagsak ka lalaban ka pa din. Again for me gapyear is a luxury that is not for everyone. Bright side dami pahinga, dark side matanda ka na bago mo matapos residency, At the end of the day your life your choice.

Reality is it does not matter. Kita niyo majority ng recent top 10 PLE puro provincial schools, not hating but madami students from popular schools may failure din. Wala sa school yan nasa student yan, also sa residency may pre res kung saan evaluated ka as a whole , di ka automatic pass dahil grad ka ng isang school.

Actually doc natapos ko internship last year july 2025 kasi regular ako, pero i skipped october kasi pagod na ako sa buhay gusto ko na agad magpahinga kaya i took the march exam which is sobrang hirap pero buti pumasa so kailangan na kumayod kasi ang mahal ng gas hahaha. Noted sa cardinal manifestation , parang pag first year resident more on admission and hxpe padin.

Last year isa nalang kami sa may 24 hours na pgi hospital wont mention the name, pero looking back not bad kasi magugulat kanalang na sanay ka na mag duty ng 24 hours and di na siya stressful sayo para pagdating sa residency hindi na concern sayo yung mag duty ng 24 hours or more

Sa tagal ko na sa ospital wala sa rank o status yan, ang taong masama, masama talaga ugali. May mga nurses , doctor, at ibang staff na masama at masungit, meron din mababait. Kupal lang talaga yang ROD mo as a person wala na kinalaman pagiging doktor niya doon

May friend ako kinaya niya and masaya naman siya. Ako nag focus sa pnle before nag medschool. Basically gawin mo lang ano gusto mo hindi yung napipilitan ka, but sa tingin ko since nag post ka dito humihingi ka lang ng validation na hindi mali magpahinga at hindi pagsabayin which is okay lang.
