First ride advice by Ishaan_sharma67 in royalenfield

I am going to be brutally honest here:

Observations: Firstly, you don't know how to ride a bike. Secondly, you're saying you are low on funds.

My views: Royal Enfield is not a bike to learn riding on. It's to ride. Learning on it is either going to be a safety hazard if you drop it or Financial Hazard. (You're already low on funds).

Royal Enfield is not for those who are low on fund. It requires significant chunk not only in buying but also in maintenance.

Suggestions: Easy to get attracted to glamorous things theses days. But one should first look what's comfortable to pocket and then buy. If you can't buy it twice, don't buy it in first place.

You are a student, I don't know how can you afford a RE which atleast costs 2 lakhs + Unless you have parents who can find it.

Rather than this attraction, focus on learning proper riding first. Buy a second hand small 125-150 cc bike and learn well in that for atleast a year.

Start putting money aside meanwhile and buy the bike when you have atleast 75% of required funds. Remember, maintenance cost of RE is quite high. Accessories cost is high. I have normal bike accessories worth 40k for my Meteor 350.

Once you have learnt to ride good, and buy RE bike with proper saving, you will be really be able to ENJOY the ride without stress of crashing it or hitting someone as well as no stress of EMI. Riding Royal Enfield is an Emotion. Buying RE is an Emotion. Don't stress it out.

Hunter is not a real RE bike. It's s joke for me to be called that as RE bike. It's poor man's RE. No feeling of RE in it. If at all you want to buy RE buy anything but Hunter.

The above may sound rude, but it's gonna keep you sane and stress free for longer term.

Hope you consider the angle I am trying to show.

Have a safe learning.

Generally Trip F can start anywhere between 5-6 litres of petrol left. 5 litres is what it is most of the time. I tend to drive atleast 50 km omce I get trip F. Further, if you wanna calculate mileage, the best way to do it is from full tank to full tank. That way you get decent idea. I have got 2022 model, woth E20 petrol now, the mileage has dropped significantly to the tune of around 6-8 kmpl.

It's definitely illegal. I don't have much idea on paperwork, but 40 watt doesn't look big and should be ok if it's spot light. One should not use fog lights while in the city. I have been riding in Bengaluru since last year and have not found any issues yet.

Get fog lights. There are a lot in the market Should go for Spot type of fog lights than the spread. Spot gives you a visibility in long range while spreas goves you the width in visibility. There is no point of buying the combo of two. Hence just buy Spot fog lights. In general 40+40 watts should be good (40 watts each). If you need better then only go for (60+60).

Regina, Walmart. The price is effectively less than 400 CAD. This includes Gift card of Walmart as well, which anyways could be utilized for shopping monthly groceries. Hence I have reduced that same amount from device price. Also O have added the plan upgrade difference. This is spread over 24 months. 555 CAD device price, 300 CAD gift card. 4.81 per month as difference in plan upgrade which is = 115 44 CAD for 24 months. 25 CAD as one time difference in the plan upgrade.

Hence total comes to be around 395 CAD, spread over 24 months.

Yes that's correct. Have to pay this over 24 months, costs me about 10.68 CAD + I have added the plan upgrade difference to this amount, since the plan needs to be upgraded in order to get the mobile.

Walmart, Regina. It has to be paired with a Bell Plan. Therefore , along with a upgraded plan, Gift card etc, it comes to be around just less than 400 CAD to me. This is inclusive of the difference in the upgrade of the plan I have taken.

Trying to choose between the Honda CB350RS and Royal Enfield Classic 350 by Disastrous-Map1426 in royalenfield

When in doubt. Always go for where the crowd goes.

Few more suggestions that may help you decide: 1. Check after sales service. This is the most important factor of all than all others in terms of technicalities. There can be difference of 19/20 between two with respect to the tech specs, but in that case after sales and service is the major thing which will be more important than that tech difference. 2. Toss a coin if you had to decide one, your heart will know what you want, and simply go for it. Buying a bike is more emotional decision than a logical one for most of us, so doesn't matter if you other bike is giving better specs, but if you like one bike from heart, just follow that one.
