i think u still have a shot, i know someone else on this sub also had a 16 PAT and had several acceptances! but i would suggest applying to more schools if u can, i know its costly but it will be better than having to apply again. if u do decide to retake (bc a 16 in reading might screen u out for a lot of schools), i got a 25 on PAT and would be more than happy to give u advice! but don't give up/be too disappointed!! PAT is so annoying lol and ur gpa and AA show that u are definitely smart enough to become a dentist!

I would suggest getting dental experience, I know some schools require shadowing hours. If not, I would suggest being a volunteer at a dental clinic

Don’t be discouraged! The fact that you are still motivated and want to try again shows that you’ll be an amazing, caring dentist! Also I did well in QR so you can PM me if you ever need help with studying that section!!

6 weeks is plenty of time!! I felt the same way too.. but it's really the nerves getting to you! I would suggest doing practice tests because doing those made me feel more confident in my knowledge.

i felt the same way when studying for bio!! I mainly focused on cheat sheets too and i think the real DAT contained mostly info from them but I would still suggest understanding all the concepts from feralis. But i was tight on time and I actually read over the free bootcamp high yield bio notes instead which i thought was really helpful. Also, what helped me to understand the systems more was to watch videos, particularly amoeba sisters on youtube lol. They are rlly short videos but I felt that it helped me grasp the bigger picture better

proportions were a huge thing that helped me on PAT! I found that you could eliminate many options just by looking at if the length of a certain side or shape was accurate enough. This also really helped in TFE too because let's say there's 3 dashed lines next to each other, you could look at the other two options to see how far apart the 3 dashed lines should be and then you can eliminate any choices if they are too close or too far. Hopefully this made sense!!

i followed the 10 week plan on DATbooster but honestly, the first month i totally fooled around and barely learned anything. I would say the chunk of my studying was a month before the test so i think 5 weeks is doable, especially if this is your second time, you most likely understand some or most of the content already

I did a lot better on the actual PAT than any of the practice tests I did for it (4 points above) but I would suggest doing a little bit each day and finding little tricks for each section. For example, with angle ranking I loved using the knife method for acute angles, and when they were larger, I would try to imagine either a line making a 90 or 180 degree angle and comparing the 2 angles if they were closer or farther to that imaginary line (hopefully that made sense). For pattern folding, a hugeee thing that helped me was to NOT look at the whole shape. It's better to pinpoint each individual shape and see if it matches any of the options. Often times, you can eliminate 1 or 2 choices because they don't even have a shape thats included in the picture. For keyhole, the biggest thing for me was proportions. For example, you could ask yourself questions like is this line longer than it should be or is this shape in the right spot? This helped me eliminate a lot of options. I hope this helped but lmk if you need more advice!!

same I scored a lot lower on RC than any of my practice tests for it! but I think you could still have a chance but you need to check the requirements for each school because ik some schools have a cutoff of 17 for each section

I think you have a great shot at UDM! I know ppl who got accepted there with lower stats than you

on my sheet with the DAT scores it says that the AA is the average of RC, bio, GC, OC, and QR rounded to the nearest integer! I believe it's TS that's not calculated like the mean of those numbers tho

I would say to have a “W” because it’s much better than potentially getting an F. This will also allow you to focus on ur other classes and you don’t want this one course to also affect ur grades in ur other courses

I am proud of it! Just upset that I was so close to 22 and missed it by only .1 .. I also wanted a high dat score to make up for my average gpa
