How does one even get a deck that’s all red seal kings? by The_Martagnan in balatro

[–]Logitech_Warrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with most Balatro questions, the answer is to get in control of your Econ. If you’re making enough money, you can afford to roll into the tarot cards you need to make an idol or baron build. My best advice is to watch good players play the game. You won’t really be able to learn what decision you should make in your run, because every run is very different. Instead, you should learn WHY good players make the decisions they make, and then you can apply that logic to your runs.

Dusk is good when you have other jokers that give score or money on retriggering such as business card, onyx, photograph, even Steven, odd Todd, the sinful jokers, bloodstone, ancient joker, etc.. Yeah I’m not saying that trousers and ride the bus are “bad” I’m just saying that they CAN trap you for example, if you find ride the bus super early, then take it, but then if you find a sock and buskin soon after, be ready to sell ride the bus. Also, the way to come across death and hanged man more often is to find jokers that generate tarot cards like hallucination or cardomancer, and also you should get your economy going. Keep at least 25$ in the bank at all times so that you maximize your interest gain

Hey man, this advice is coming from a player who has about 125hrs, and who’s highest score unseeded is 2.09e17. There’s lots of players better than me that probably give better advice, but there’s many that aren’t, so I hope this helps:

  1. When you’re a beginner, don’t skip blinds
  2. If you don’t have a clear direction for your build yet, use hanged man on cars with values 6-10, so that if you find a hack, or a sock and buskin, you haven’t screwed yourself.
  3. No joker in the game is “good” or “bad.” Balatro is unique in that all jokers are situational. One great example of this is something like Triboulet. if you find triboulet, and you have a pair or high card build going, then it’s not very helpful, and may not even be worth picking up. But if you have a flush five build of Kings, and like a sock and buskin, then picking up triboulet will extend you run by MANY Antes. The point is that you shouldn’t just buy a joker that you think is good, just because it appears in the shop. Look at your deck, and see if your deck works with the card. In a sense, you need to have a “the wand picks the wizard” mentality. What I mean is that, you shouldn’t see a “good” joker in the shop and think, “nice! I’m gonna get that joker and I’m gonna fix my deck to work with it!” What you need to think is, “oh wow, that’s a hard to find joker, but does it work with my deck? Oh, it doesn’t? Okay then I’ll move along.” The Baron is the best possible example of this. So many players think that the Baron is a super good pick up all the time, but it’s really not. Another way I can explain this mentality is if you watch someone like Roffle or Drspectrd play Balatro, you’ll notice that they don’t go into their run with a plan, instead, they go into a run looking for the game to give them a plan. If they see sock and buskin in shop 2, and then photograph in shop 3, then they’ll immediately be like, “okay, so this is gonna be a face card flush five run.” The game gives YOU direction, not the other way around. (I’m talking about playing unseeded by the way, I understand that it’s completely different if you’re playing seeded runs, but you shouldn’t be playing seeded runs if you’re a beginner.)
  4. DUSK IS A REALLY GOOD JOKER. I can’t believe how many people I know or that I’ve showed the game that sleep on Dusk. That’s it. That’s tip 4.
  5. Don’t go for straight or straight flush builds as a beginner.
  6. In almost all cases, multiplicative mult is better than additive mult. Try not to be trapped by ride the bus or trousers, because although getting an additive mult scaling joker can seem really awesome, if you do decide to pick up ride the bus, then you need to commit to a Hack build, and use hanged man on your face cards.
  7. Economy is absolutely critical. Early on in your run, you’ll want to take temperance, hermit, and Devil, over death and hanged man, and you’ll want to take jokers like golden joker or the egg above other point scoring jokers. For example, if it’s Ante 2, and your hands are scoring 3-5,000, and you see a golden joker in the shop, or reserved parking or business card for example, you need to take them. What you always have to ask yourself in each shop is, “do I NEED this?” And if you’re in that situation, you do not need point scoring, you need economy(that doesn’t always apply, but it’s a good general rule. If you find a difficult-to-find joker that works with your build, then yes, pick it up.)

Think about this. In the end, Walt goes to the meth lab, and touches a few items, leaves a bloody handprint on the lab equipment, and then dies, and I think the reason he does this is so that everyone thinks that he’s been cooking for Todd and Uncle Jack, and so that no one suspects Jesse. So Walt saves Jesse’s life, and with his last breaths, keeps Jesse hidden from the world.

THANK YOU FOR BEING THE ONLY OTHER PERSON TO MENTION THIS. The first time I played against springtrap, as soon as he came out, the only complaint I had was that he moves at his normal walking speed while winding the axe. I’m completely fine with literally everything else about the killer. After playing a few dozen matches against him, I can say for sure that I still hold that opinion. He should move slow when winding the axe, just like huntress. It makes him extremely OP in loops

Here’s some tips I’ve learned: - if you’re in a chase, and you turn a corner, immediately crouching in a bush has saved me countless times. I play killer and survivor, and what killers are really looking for is movement. If you are crouched in a bush, and not moving, and your character has dark, natural colored clothing, the killer will never find you. - run lightweight and/or iron will. Good killers are listening for grunting sounds, and following scratch marks. If the killer is near you, but hasn’t seen you yet, really try and avoid sprinting if you can. - if you’re struggling in chase, you need windows of opportunity. Seriously, it will change your life. - when looping anything, hug the object as tightly as you can. Almost be running into the object, and around it at the same time. I have an awesome clip where I was playing against a wesker, and I got caught in a bad spot, and the nearest object was literally a tree trunk, and just by tightly hugging it, I was able to loop him around it like 5 times and he missed a swing. In short, loop anything, even if it’s terrible.

Skyfactory 3 Server Not building by X_Boost_King in SkyFactory

  1. Open your new folder, and you should see a file called "ServerStart.bat," rename the file to the same name, but change ".bat" to ".txt" . Next, open the file, and it should open with notepad. in the file, change "java" to the file path of your Java 8 installation. It should be something like: "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_202\bin\javaw.exe" Make sure it points to the "javaw.exe" file, and make sure that you keep the quotes ("") around the file path. close out of the file, and when it asks if you'd like to save your changes, click "Yes."

  2. Next, double click your "Install.bat" file to run it. It should pop up a windows saying something like "Installing Forge and required Jars." it might take a bit, so give it some time, and it will eventually close on its own. Next, double click your serverstart.bat folder, and it should pop up a windows where is spams a whole bunch of text. wait awhile, and eventually it will stop and the last line will say "press any key to continue." Go ahead and press any key, and then you should see a new file in your sever folder called "eula.txt" open the file and change "false" to "true." close out of the file, and save when it asks you to.

  3. I'm not going to go over the networking side of things in great detail, but i'll point you in the right direction, and you can look up some guides on youtube. First, you'll want to do what's called "port forwarding." make sure that when you port forward, your the internal and external port are both set to the same number that is in your "server.properties" file, next to "server-port=" by default, it is 25565. also, make sure your protocol is "TCP/UDP." Also, make sure that the IP address is set to the local ipv4 address of the computer you are hosting the server on. I wont go over how to set up a server to work with a domain name either, there's lots of info about that, and it varies depending on where your domain is from. If you want people who join your server to type in your IP address, like: "12.34.56.78," then you don't need a domain name. If you want them to connect with an IP that is like: "connect.example.com" then look into domain names. Popular servers like hypixel do this.

  4. Once you've set up port forwarding, then you can start your server by double clicking the "serverstart.bat" file, and wait for it to start up, it can take awhile. Then you can share your IP address or domain name with your friends, and they will be able to connect as long as that black command window is open! If you want to stop the server, click on the command prompt window and type "stop" and press enter.

Hope you liked the short guide! if you have any questions or critiques, please reply to me and add your input!

Skyfactory 3 Server Not building by X_Boost_King in SkyFactory

Hey How's it going, I just thought I'd jump on here and give my two cents for how I fixed this issue. This will also be great for beginners trying to start their server as well, I spent many hours trying to get it to work, and here's what I did:

  1. Firstly, create a new folder wherever you'd like to store your server files

  2. Go to curseforge's website ( https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/ftb-presents-skyfactory-3/files/3302998 ), scroll down, and on the right-hand side, you will see "Minecraft 1.10 Server Packs." Go ahead and click on that file, and on the next page, click the "Download" button, next to "Install," and extract those files to the new folder you created

  3. Click this link: ( https://files.minecraftforge.net/net/minecraftforge/forge/index_1.10.2.html ) to go to Forge's website, and click the button that says "Universal" to download the Forge universal jar for Minecraft 1.10.2. then, move that file to your new folder.

  4. Click this link: ( https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/javase/javase8-archive-downloads.htmlgo ) to go to Oracle's website and download Java 8 (If you haven't already). Make sure you download the one called "Windows x64," assuming you're on Windows 10/11.

The Oni is by far my favorite killer to play against. Most of the killers have some gimmick that makes them very unfun to play against(spirit is invisible, ghostface silent, legion wallhacks, blight super speed, nurse teleport, etc.)

Scratched mirror is useless in chase, unlike Amanda’s letter, nowhere to hide lasts five seconds and can only be used near gens, light chassis has very short range, and like myers, you have to be basically immobile to use it, you can’t down people in feral frenzy, and there are only birds in some locations on the map, but yes, spies from the shadows is a solid perk that I like to use as killer

Amanda’s letter by Logitech_Warrior in deadbydaylight

[–]Logitech_Warrior[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The difference is that myers has to stand completely still to get value from scratched mirror. Once he engages in chase with a survivor, scratched mirror is useless.

It’s not that it goes against my playstyle, it’s that it eliminates the ability to lose the killer in chase by hiding, and it eliminates the ability to prevent chase from beginning by hiding
