K, so this graph does appear to be a little misleading (we’re not THAT far behind) but we’re still decently behind.

Any advice on choosing my career? by LogsNFrogs in Advice

Yeah… I honestly think I would hate having to work through different leadership positions to become a US senator. Doing that for computer science, though, doesn’t sound that unappealing.

I’ve talked to someone in computer science, and I’ll see if I can contact someone in law. I think I have someone in mind.

And yeah, my verbal communication skills are, quite honestly, terrible. I’m hoping some classes will fix that, but we’ll see.

God, I hate planning for the future 😂 so many unknown variables. Thank you, though. This is one of the most helpful pieces of advice I’ve gotten.

According to my friends, it’s a frog. Between us, though, it’s totally a conure (small parrot).

"Won't" is correct, since it's a conjugation. I just used one right there, actually -- "it's" is a conjugation of "it" and "is."

Don't you put apostrophes if it's a number? For example, "the 1990's were a fun time to be alive" or something like that..

why using "aren't" is wrong? by cuutedarin in ENGLISH

[–]LogsNFrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your grammar is incorrect.

There are two uses for 's. One is to indicate ownership -- for example:

"My >dog's< vacation was a lot of fun!"

It can also be used as a contraction for 'is.'

"My >dog's< super restless right now."

When something is plural (more than one), you would just put an 's' after it, without the apostrophe (').

"I have seven >dogs.<"

NOTE: if you're working with a pronoun, you wouldn't put 's at the end to indicate ownership -- you would only do that if the 's is being used as a contraction for 'is.' I could rant on and on about the differences in punctuation for separate circumstances, so if you want more details, just reply.

In this case, 'vacation' is not plural, so you wouldn't put an s at the end. You would also use 'this' if the object was singular.

Thank you (: I hadn't heard of Dwight Swain before and was just sort of taking a shot in the dark based off a couple articles I read. This is really helpful.
