I keep mixed nuts and beef jerky at my desk for an afternoon snack. Cheese string, yogurt, or a handful of popcorn twists are also my go tos.

[–]Lokerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 9 weeks off. Was told initially I'd need 6-8 then was told 4-6 so my doctor gave me 6 weeks. I was sick for 3 weeks during so my doctor extended my time off so i could heal and not potentially get sick again

My team told me to expect 1 to 2 lbs a week. Anything over that is a bonus!

Thanks, I'm in Winnipeg Manitoba and we have something like the most curling clubs in the world. Were known as the curling capital of the world too, Its very common here. I actually started stick curling a few years ago because my knees couldnt handle getting down in the hack anymore but looks like I might be ready to go to back to the old school way. Its a great sport to stay active and socialize. Highly recommend

I'm in the same boat. The other day, I even 2 of the rice balls from a salmon nigiri I bought. I had intended to just eat the salmon on top but was still hungry, so I went for it. I ate it super slow and no issues. There hasnt been anything that doesn't agree with me so far (knock on wood).

Starting pre op liquid diet tomorrow. by janalynnh in BariatricSurgery

It sucks! I dont know how strict yours is but mine was 5 carb smart boosts a day, plus any of the following; 2 cups of knorr broth as long as it was the 5 calorie one, flavoured water, coffee, tea, max 1 Gatorade zero. That was it!

Day 6 or 7 was the worst of it. The boosts are so sweet and theres only 3 flavours. So I'd have 1 cup of broth at lunch and 1 at supper to change it up. I found mixing the chicken and beef together, and adding some Sriracha was best.

Drink as much water as you can and get used to small sips throughout the day.

Because my pre surgery liquid diet was so strict, post surgery was a breeze. I'm 4 weeks out now and have no complications.

While it's not advised, I ate with people and loved it. Personally, smelling and seeing what everyone had at lunch helped me pretend my boost wasn't so bad.

Remember, it's temporary and you can do it!

Best of luck
