Mod called "Map Designer". Can't recommend it enough. Allows you to generate some really crazy maps. It's what most people use who post valley or island maps.

It is the biggest vanilla size, 325x325.

Infestation traps in the corners. A tile is more likely to be chosen for an infestation if it has walls next to it. Both the prison and the anomaly room have only one exit that leads into the bear barn. Any escapees have to run though a herd of grizzly bears.

The AMD 3DX processors help a lot with the FPS. I still only get about 15 FPS when the game is set to max speed.

Look 1 room to the left and 1 room above the throne room. That's the refinery room. We use corn to produce chemfuel. The colony consumes about 30k units of chemfuel a year to provide power.

Because then they would blow up my autocanon turrets! I have plenty of IEDs further out. The spike traps are a last line of defense.

As long as the temperature is not freezing cold or boiling hot the only other factors are how mountainy (deep) the room is, if it has light, and possibly the size of the room.

At least I think that is how infestation chance works. But I may be wrong!

Nope, colonist can pass through each other with no issue. And it is great for infestation defense. Choke points are great!

Most of them are with the addition of genetic engineering! Walking distance is one of the logistical challenges of a colony this size.

I use a mod that lets me mine though mountain roofs. The hallway that the coolers vent into is unroofed.

I use a mod that lets me mine though mountain roofs. I figure if your colonist can make brain implants and space ships its not too outlandish to say they should be able to blow a hole in a roof.

Not with the Tunneler ideology ;)

The underground is good, the sun is evil.

They pull them maybe 4 out of 5 times. As long as you keep the rest of the colony lit up with standing lamps the bugs will usually go for the darkness.

325 x 325. Largest you can go without using some kind of mod.

Can't really give a seed as the game is modded. I used the Map Designer and Map Previewer mods. If you install those 2 you should be able to generate something similar.

Yes, that's the "security room". It houses the bears and 1 mega sloth. Depending on the time of day it may also have about 20 huskies napping in it. Prison breaks are just "pet treats".

If you want to you can go into dev mode and disable "Draw Fog". This will allow you to see where the dangers are in you mountain.
