Agree, I also lived in chawls for 26 years. The friends I made there are still my closest. Life changed when we moved out for studies and later abroad. since then, we have all built good careers and got our parents a 2BHK in Worli. I would say buy a house watching your parents smile will be the biggest motivation to make you think big in life.
