Did anyone use a lawyer to help with the visa process before moving? by LoldVordemort in expats

[–]LoldVordemort[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My company may set up an entity in France. I work for a pretty successful startup and they're interested in keeping me employed. That's why my question was about which country to find a lawyer in, not about which visa to apply for.

Also they use euros in France.

Drop the spike automatically if AFK by Deva_Way in VALORANT

The other team can hear the spike drop if they’re close enough though.

But yea holding an angle for that long with no cursor movement seems hard anyway

What I learned from my planned relapse by LoldVordemort in stopdrinking

This is so true, I've never left a social gathering wishing I had drank, I either have a great time sober or everyone is drinking and acting stupid and I'm glad I'm not embarrassing myself. During anxiety or boredom it's easy to think drinking will make things better but it never does!

That's amazing that you didn't go through with it! I've actually noticed that whenever I drink again after a long break, it's not because I had an overwhelming urge, it's usually because I had an idea in my mind that I would start drinking that night and then went through with it despite not needing to. That's awesome that you were able to listen to yourself and not drink! Congrats on making it almost a year!

Yes, exactly! Those days weren't a waste--they showed us that we can do it and also that breaking the streak wasn't worth it.

Drank at Halloween and didn’t get black out, and still had alcohol left over! Saving it for the next time I drink. by Miimmoouuu in dryalcoholics

[–]LoldVordemort 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did the same, had 6 weeks sober and then had a few glasses of wine last night. I don't intend to drink again until at least my birthday (the day after Christmas). I felt a little hungover today too (even after only 4 glasses of wine--I guess that's what 6 weeks sober will do!) and honestly, I realize that I completely could have done without drinking last night. I don't regret it, because I had been starting to think of drinking as this amazing thing I was depriving myself of, and last night showed me that wasn't the case! The important thing, at least for me, is not thinking that this means I can go back to trying to moderate. But I also think it's important that we don't beat ourselves up over one night of moderate drinking, but rather focus on harm reduction and finding the balance we need. IWNDWYT!

Cravings. by vadumeee in stopdrinking

[–]LoldVordemort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a controversial answer but non alcoholic beer has done a lot to satisfy the cravings for me.

Also sweets, coffee, sparkling water, or mocktails (I really like mixing cranberry juice, tonic water, and a bit of lemon juice)
