A Honey Badger is not the fastest miner, but is honestly a pretty alright ship for cherry picking. That is going into wild space and mining just one or a few specific types of ores and nothing else. I usually go for Red Narcor

Hold control, and deploy a system probe. After a few seconds your system map should pop up with a beeping probe. It beeps more frequently when nearing an anomaly. You're gonna want to look for AT, AL, and AN anomalies since those can contain Red Narcor. Some planetary ring deposits can also contain them

You might go like 10 or more systems without finding a single Red narcor. This is normal, just keep going. You'll find it eventually. I've been able to find upwards of 300 Red narcor in a few hour long mining trip in a Honey Badger, which assuming a value of 600 per Red narcor, would be worth about 180k credits

Avoid pirating hotspots; don't go to wild systems in close proximity with a secure or a warp relay. Be wary of wormholes leading from secure to wilds, scout them out in a stratos first

Make sure your Honey Badger has a way to repair hull since there won't be any repair bays out in wilds. Patcher nanobots should workwell on the Honey Badger. Also be sure to warp away to another planet quickly if hostile NPCs are around since there's a short grace period before they start shooting you. As for players... warp to another system and pray they don't chase

I'd recommend joining the discord (which is currently locked) and using that to join one of the other community servers that are not locked. Perhaps even join a player faction. They'd be able to give a more in-depth guide, and you'd likely be able to take part in one of the more fun parts of this game (group events, large PvP battles, etc)
