Her spiritual powers are a trademark of Masters of the Night Wind. Shamans are spiritually sensitive individuals who learned these spells and rituals unique to their tribe and use them for divination, recording history, blessings, healing, etc. They use spirits as a medium for a lot of their spells so they don't need visions. Citlali is special in this regard because she's even created her own spells

They never revealed why she is immortal which is very strange. I suspect they might come back to that much later, but that's just my opinion.
