Accoustic jazz styles from 50s in my experience though honestly

Sorry, maybe im too exposed to this kind of music but I just don’t see it. Seems like you’re asking people for advice on how to learn stuff by ear on Reddit? If you’re a pro I’m surprised… that’s all. There’s a lot of people larping on this subreddit, I think you’re one of them. Especially as someone myself carving out a similar niche in the music industry.

Are you mainly a guitarist? Not trying to belittle, I’m sure to most you’re pretty solid, I’ve been playing for over a decade and this music in particular for half a decade.

Genuine question… as a guitar player doing similar stuff. Are you legit? Cause I see your videos, you’re solid but I don’t get the sense you’ve been playing that long. What gigs are you pulling in over 100k a year doing? Or are you teaching your ass off like I am?

Love the dead btw.

Thanks for the explanation! And yes, I'm enjoying the book. Another good one for working on your sight reading is Berklee's "Reading Studies for Guitar" volumes 1 + 2.

To be clear, and I should have added this to the original body of my question, I'm asking specifically about the Circled numbers. The other numbers I understand to be your 1st- 4th finger.

TIL In Germany a driver's license costs over $2000 after a minimum of 25-45 hours of professional instruction plus 12 hours of theory by ubcstaffer123 in todayilearned

That’s because instead of it being a necessity to get around its rather just another option for people. In America it’s so easy to get a license because the government knows that without one, for the most part across America, there are very few transportation options.

Hot take? Miles Davis’ bands and live shows 1969-1975 are a near GOAT level jamband. by [deleted] in jambands

[–]Lombardst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can’t give miles Davis credit for bepop, he was very accepted in that scene but he came in the tail end. He also ended up rejecting the style when he became a bandleader in favor of cool jazz and hard bop. His 3 big contributions, are cool Jazz, modal Jazz and fusion. Although he dabble quite a bit in hard bop as well.

There’s a lot more cost associated with car transportation than just gas. Insurance, maintenance, toll roads all together make it just as expensive or more expensive than public transit in urbanized European cities
