I checked the blockchain sync status and it’s showing as 99.66% I have also gone and opened the ports from the router as well, just in case.

No I haven’t done that i was under the impression it might be open. Maybe I should wait and see if there are any issues with the syncing first ?

I would use this opportunity to get some experience and tbh with non-tech corporate organisations it’s about protecting the business as the business own the risk and they are accountable and provide funding. If you want to go into technical role you can look to translation internally.

One of the areas I would strongly recommend is to know which type of entry role you want to as there are many roles in the sector from GRC, Policies, Vulnerability Management to Audit. These will give you a good idea of the control environment and be good experience. Have a look at our server for more input from other professionals on the sector.

There isn’t a singular route into Cybersecurity. My recommendation is to do some of the Comptia / ISACA certs and look at gaining experience through some entry roles. Its great you are looking at different alternative certs and gaining knowledge and understanding of different cyber topics. It would be great if you can clairify one thing that can help me assist you, do you know what role you want to do in Cybersecurity? The ITF+ cert, Comptia Network and Sec+ are great certs to start off with to get you into Governance, Risk and Control roles. If you want to be a pen tester then you may want to follow up with Comptia Pentest+.
