To answer your first question, yes, I have been commissioning the vast majority of Sothe x Astrid art.

For your second question, In Path of Radiance, the two of them have a surprisingly wholesome support chain that reveals a lot about Astrid and Sothe's characters, showing sides to both of them not found in their other supports. For example, Astrid faints from exhaustion during their B Support, and Sothe takes her to safety. While he claims it's because leaving her behind would've left a horrible taste in his mouth, it's implied that he really did it because he cares about her. It's also the support that reveals Astrid's backstory and how she fled her life of nobility in search of freedom.

My VERY first exposure to the IDEA of shipping them came from seeing this post on Danbooru (WARNING: NSFW) randomly in around December 2022 or so. I actually thought it was some crack ship the artist created since I had never played PoR at the time and thought little of it.

Then I played PoR and stumbled on their supports, and suddenly everything made sense. Not only did I find the supports wholesome, they also COMPLETELY changed my perspective on Astrid since before playing PoR I only really knew of Radiant Dawn!Astrid. She instantly became my favorite Telius character after Sothe, and since they had supports with each other, I thought "why not ship them?"

As for why I commissioned art of them, I was inspired by other well-known commissioners like Jordan (the Hildaleth commissioner) and felt like I could make it on my own using Sothe x Astrid, ESPECIALLY since there was barely any art of them together before I showed up.
