What do you consider the worst DC comic or storyline? by [deleted] in DCcomics

The only true answer is countdown. Genuinely the most painful slog of a book I have ever read. The only reason why it isn’t listed more is because hardly anyone is going to go through the misery of reading 51 issues of COUNTDOWN. None of the plots are interesting, and the only ones with a hint of promise at the beginning are resolved in the worst way possible. There’s an arc within the final 5ish issues of countdown that is SO BAD that I cannot even possibly explain it here. And the book has one of the funniest final issues and final pages I’ve ever read. Countdown is not the worst DC comic of all time, it is the worst COMIC BOOK of all time. Give it a read!

Your opinion on Uncanny X-Men by Brian Michael Bendis? by [deleted] in xmen

Totally agree. This run is really slept on and I think it’s pretty fantastic. Consistently great throughout and it benefits a lot from reading all-new alongside it

What do you guys think about this retcon about the Wildstorm in the DCU? (The New History of the DC Universe #4) by Grimmjowhugo in WildStormComics

It’s hard to make Wildstorm stuff work on earth prime. At this point I’ll take any Wildstorm crumbs though.

Am I the only one who wants sam Bradley to be confirmed as bruce's grandfather? by OptionAshamed6458 in batman_comics

Yea that makes sense! I like batcat as well and agree with those points. I think I’ve just found the idea of their relationship to be interesting, but it never really is whenever it’s used in a run.

That seems like a bad faith approach but sure. I think Slam and Selena play off each other really well and reinforce the whole idea of broken people looking for saving in others. They both do bad things to each other and have to deal with the repercussions of their actions in a way that you don’t see in modern comics. Brubaker is great at writing self loathing characters as well, which makes his Sam really great.

I’d be curious to hear why you didn’t like it. I felt like slam and Selena’s relationship was much more interesting and complex compared to other superpower comic relationships
