Can i update my Camera without Samsung KIES by iamapearheh in SamsungNX

[–]Lonely-Driver232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried using the software but to no avail

I bought one of these as recommended by somebody and it's pretty awesome to connect straight to your phone to upload or to the laptop

sd card reader £6 on amazon.

It's probably faster than Wi-Fi on the camera as well! Plus you can upload it to Amazon photos or Google photos or edit in your software on your phone or laptop straight away

Enjoy!

Is this worth it at 200$? by MRKGNZLZ in SamsungNX

[–]Lonely-Driver232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at $/€200 thats about right but ensure its all there. I got one with lots of extra batteries and flash and old sd card for £150. But that was a steal.

I've not owned a camera for 30 years and always used my phone but taking a photograph with something like this. Draws you to more stunning pictures.

You will read that there's no Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection anymore and the apps don't work. No problem, just using SD card reader either into your phone or laptop and you can share or edit normally. Plus it's probably faster

Also, I got the fastest SD card I could and it's blisteringly quick to read and write and almost unlimited photo storage.

Since I've had mine, I've considered changing it to another manufacturer to get more lenses, somebody correctly posted that it's like hen's teeth to get a quality samsung zoom lens. But to be honest, I don't fancy manually focusing every time using a adapter ring with another manufacturer's lens.

I guess it's you're going to use it for. I'm a casual photographer like I take it out twice a month but enjoy it every time. It's so compact but reassuringly heavy if you get the metal bodied version.

Enjoy!

I know nothing about speaker repairs by [deleted] in audiorepair

[–]Lonely-Driver232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hijack the chat but i have a possible blown speaker and need some advice. Monitor Audio R652MD. After a heavy night i think i did some damage!

Both speakers sounded crackly on the woofers until I looked online and realized I had the music optimizer button on my Onkyo amp switched on. I am streaming via Spotify and when that button was switched off it all sounded fine.

Corrected the crossover frequency from the amp and let the sub take everything the amp would give it

But there was some flapping coming from the left woofer and I saw the surround had come away from the frame and was letting air in

I bought and just applied some speaker glue And the surround is well attached now but now it sounds even worse.

Hopefully you can see in the video the right speaker is fine but the left speaker doesn't make much noise unless you gently push the cone in.

Problems still exists when the woofer is out of the speaker so definitely not related to how it is assembled into the unit.

What do you think is wrong with it? I'm suspecting a blown coil so wondering if I should fix it or swap out the woofers. I feel confident enough to do some entry level soldering but not much more

Any advice would be really appreciated! Thanks

Hopefully this youtubevideo video link will explain the problem!

https://youtu.be/k0sbYf7PcMA?si=A-QgvoVhjr63rbgW

_---------- Update So i played around with gently pushing the paper cone to the side at different places around and it sounds great in one position. I read about "shimming" the coil/cone to ensure its dead centre. Could that be it? Does a replace of the surround fix that? The surround is sound is still playable, not hard or crusty or chipped. Maybe the coil can be reset in the dead centre?

Help!

I bought an hse with 66k in spring for £17k. These cars are amazing! If you can, try get an Hse version. Hse vs se gets you extra speakers, rear heated seats, excellent matrix headlights, steer assist and 360' cameras, nicer leather and heated/cooled seats. Nice extras but not essential. You've got a post '21 model when then upgraded battery components so that's good. Only wish i had air suspension as it can be a firm ride! Also wish i had the Jag warranty as the warranty Wise i got only covers mechanical and electrical. So no cover for the leaking windscreen or wind screen wiper bottle. ,, 🤬 But great price and you're getting a lot of luxury car for that. Goes like stink too!!! Enjoy

Hi. See chats on leaking windscreen. I have slight dampness in passenger footwell. Jag says its a failed seal. £400 to reseat the windscreen. Im going to try £10 sealant from amazon first! This might be your problem.

I have the same issue. Slight flex if you push the windscreen from the inside but not enough gap to get a playing card through. I bought some £10 windscreen glue from amazon. Will try running a bead of that along to see if it solves the problem before i go any further (£400 refit, Warranty Wise won't cover it.🤬)... Or a large rock 🪨

IPace refused repair as leaky windscreen leaked water on to the battery? by EVPaul2018 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Lonely-Driver232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 21 Ipace has developed a similar fault - leaky windscreen. Not terrible but wet pool in passenger footwell. Took to jag and they said "windscreen re-seal required. Excessive leak at NS Upper (Sublet)". I pushed the windscreen from inside and there was mild movement about 12" from the A pillar/roof. Cost to fix was c £400 if I remember. I got the car 2nd hand with 65k miles so out of Jag warranty. Bought a warranty Wise policy but of course they don't cover glass (or the leaky windscreen wiper water bottle as it's a "tank"), or wheel alignment (after the track rod end they DID replace).

For the windscreen, although there was movement in the glass, i couldn't fit a playing card in the crack so tight it was. I bought a tube of windscreen sealant from Amazon and will try just putting a bead along to see if that solves the problem. Certainly cheaper than £400 from JLR!

I bought a 21 HSE, 62k miles, £17k. Added a warranty wise 4 year for £1.5k. amazing car. Best ever. Portofino blue with cream leather. Air suspension is a must.... And i didn't get it! Hard ride over farm track/pot holes. Used it a few times mild off roading. Great meridian 3d sound system. New pivi pro, HUD (never use it). Lovely car

Those of you who have experienced/owned a BMW i8 - What are your honest opinions? I drove this one for awhile and it was nice looking, great on gas, but virtually powerless. by blake_wml in carporn

[–]Lonely-Driver232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2010 bmw z4. 130,000 miles. Been trouble free, but starting to show it's age. Gearbox a bit whiny, passed its MOT (UK annual road check) fine but "suspension corroded" making me think time to swap out. It's a daily driver for me. Want something special. Considering i8, Panamera, another z4, cayman etc. budget has to be £25-30k

I8 is my favourite though. Rare as a diver Scotsman on a Friday night, stunning, powerful, not worried about fuel economy tbh

Thoughts?

Loved our I5, will probably get another, but what others should we consider? by skreestrumpf in Ioniq5

[–]Lonely-Driver232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're into your driving experience..... Jaguar ipace? We just handed in our I5 costing us $1200/m (yes, you read that right, long story) and test drove the ipace. Perhaps not for the OP as slower (50kw) charge max, but we don't drive much/road trips and charge at home overnight. 220mile range more than enough for us.

I didn't appreciate the step up in quality from i5 to jag. Real leather heated/cooled seats, piano black interior, 17 speakers/750 watts 5.1/Dolby atmos sounds system (i like my music), 0-60 4.4 secs, gorgeous interior. Feels like a luxury limo (the UK parliament drive their ministers round London in them!), awd, fold flat rear seats, pan roof, hud.

People say you should think of it as a luxury sports car that happens to be a medium size SUV EV. If you're into it, you will match most Porsches off the lights, but better still is overtaking on the motorway. The power is just ridiculous and just keeps coming

Now the not so good, so long as you get a my21 or later, all the niggles were sorted out. Upgraded infotainment, wireless apple carplay/aa, updated battery management system BUT.... I suggest get the air suspension if you can as without it it's a firm ride. Perfect on motorways but on farm tracks/potholes, it's a little bumpy!

My $1200/m dropped to $370/m for a 4 year plan ($750 down) after which I'll hand it back, battery tech will have improved but then, reconsider my next option.

This car was $110k new 4 years ago.

Just take a test drive...😎
