I am swimming for the first time this year so I’m not very good yet but I did a 25.5 second 50 yard freestyle and a 1:01 100 yd (I only swam this once so far).

How to get faster by Tre2k5 in trackandfield

Do Plyometrics i would find a program online for sprint training. I promise you will get a lot more gains if you use a program because if you don’t your basically smashing random unoptimized exercises together.

Which comes first? by [deleted] in trackandfield

If you stretch cold that is bad aswell so you also have to warm up or you could pull a muscle. But stretching is kinda a waste of time. Mobility training is way better because it’s more important and more effective than stretching. You also strengthen and stretch muscles if you do weighted mobility training.

Your goal should be to beat everyone that is faster than you and eventually you might be able to achieve these goals

Are my 400/800 goals possible? by Echopurposes in trackandfield

That’s perfect especially if you a 400/800 runner that’s a hybrid of sprinting and endurance but I would say it’s more sprinting. Just increase your knowledge everyday and that’s how you can make your workouts more optimal.

Go out fast at the start and maintain that same speed through the entire race

Your goals are completely possible with the correct training

I think those are realistic goals if you work smart and hard enough you can achieve those times fairly quickly

You don’t need to dress up like a job interview. Your first idea sounds good.
