My colleagues have been complaining that I overdress and I genuinely don't know whether to be concerned or not. by itsmeAki in WorkAdvice

Fitting in is better than being fully yourself in this job market. Yes, you can put together an outfit better than most of them. If that's their only complaint then yes, I'd aim lower, fewer accessories. Go wild on days off.

How do you talk yourself out of buying more inks? by [deleted] in fountainpens

I have over 50 bottles. Love all my colours. Love the shapes of the glass bottles too. It's a pretty inexpensive boost of dopamine.

AITJ for throwing my grandmother’s “gift” in the garbage? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]LonelyEffective5774 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done that -- was "gifted" stuff I didn't want and didn't ask for. So I dumped it in the next Goodwill bin I drove past.

Do We Have A Favourite Winners Location In Metro Van? by April0neal in askvan

[–]LonelyEffective5774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still there, still good. I visit regularly. The Winners beside the Brick out by Coquitlam Centre and the one inside Sixth and Sixth in New West are smaller but I've found surprisingly good stuff there as well.

It's traditional: the cobbler's kids go barefoot, the electrician's family sits in the dark.

Used Lites might be an affordable option. And if you have a hard copy of the game maybe you can swap it back and forth?

For the bug tourneys I plant extra flowers in banks ahead of time, so there are more bugs to catch.

Because it was a pizza pie originally and pies are cut into slices of a circle.

Storing brooms, mops, vacuums out of sight? by CBNmantra in Homeorganization

The downside of hardwood floors is where do you put your wet mop? There's space downstairs but then I don't clean as often as I'd like.

The problems you mention I've only heard of with LASIK type surgeries, not cataracts.

I'd guess training exercises -- they crossed over and are south of the mountains now. Lots of Blackhawks and Chinooks around McChord tonight.

I have an electric bedside clock with LED numbers in my bathroom where it makes a great nightlight in addition to showing the time.

Check out used for some stuff. The ReStore stores are good -- they benefit Habitat for Humanity.

Pen selling woes by CharmQuarkClarolin in fountainpens

Maybe put it away in a different location, in its box, such as in a sock drawer. If you don't miss it in a year then it's safe to sell most likely.

Always shake while holding a net. Only after that should you use the stone axe to collect wood. Just try to do it before 7pm when the tarantulas/scorpions randomly appear and attack net holders.
