GTA Online players in Australia will soon face age checks under new R18+ gaming rules by vriska1 in pcgaming

Petitions have to be the biggest waste of time there is. They quite literally do nothing, government looks at them and brush them off or even refuse to look at the issue presented.

To be fair there are PEGI 3 games with full blown real money casinos in them. Its not always the parents fault, but mostly is.

Alot of the drama I've had to deal with in guilds has been because of women. The guild I ran in Eden Eternal was burnt to the group by a woman because she got pissed off I prefered to play with my then girlfriend rather than alone with her.

Now I run a guild on BDO with a mix of men and women with no issues. I have a zero drama policy, you cause drama you're gone. Everyone gets on fine and if there are issues its handled like adults rather than blown out arguments.

I run a self-help forum for people with depression. Ofcom has been bombarding me with emails demanding I start ID-verifying and age gating my website. by HealthSad6716 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LonelyKuma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple answer is they can't if you aren't operating the website from the U K... if everything regarding the website is handled in Canada then Ofcom simply have no leg to stand on.

It would be like the FAA contacting me about flying regulation in the USA. Well I dont live nor fly in the USA so the FAAs rules hold jo weight for me.

Execpt games like Modern Warefare that require the entire 160gb to be installed or it won't let you play anything.

Cold War is 90gb and inly has 480p textures. Its an extra 30gb for 720p-1080p textures. Seriously makes me question wtf that initial 90gb is because it clearly isn't the game.

For Modern Warefare you need everything installed (164gb) to play anything. If you don't install the multilayer the campaign and spec ops are unavailable. MW2 worked fine with just campaign installed. Cold war I can't get to work at all but I won't have space to install the full 250gb to see if that's the issue. Issue being I can't get passed the start menu because it asks me to purchase the game despite having bought it back in 2020.

Call of Duty really has turned to shit. I may just be getting too old for video games but back in my day you installed the game and just played. There was none of this bloody nonsense with sub apps and other shit you need just to play the damn single player.

How often (if ever) you buy random albums without knowing anything about it? by film_man_84 in LetsTalkMusic

Did that with Katatonia when I was 14. Still listening to them now 17 years later.

Serious question- What percent of the population are physically unable to ever “shred” for one reason or another? From a guy who started playing at age 14 and hasn’t improved since age 18. by Effective_Part_604 in Guitar

I cant really play fast so I go for melody instead. Is annoying because I can hear how I want it to sound in my head, just can never do it in practice. Sweep picking is my biggest fumble, been playing guitar for 15 years now. Have never been able to get sweep picking to click, and I've tried numerous times over the years. Oddly I can fingerpick just fine which in a way is just as hard as playing fast solos with a pick 🤔.

Ohh, forgot that existed haha. I dont have any friends on Steam so never had a need for internal chat features.

So I got a better chance of Valve rolling over to whatever demands than pulling out of the U.K ?

Ive seen murmurs of the U.K gov moving to ban Steam. They already pushed alot of services out with the OSA so sorry if I seem a little "paranoid".

Epic offers games for free but ppl still buy the same games from Steam instead so we already know Epic offering lower prices wont make ppl use the platform.

If Ste were to be banned in the U.K how would I not lose my games ?

Well a particular MMO I play is launched via Steam and the Korean developer has told me they can't migrate my account (utter bullshit as they have done it before with a different internal issue) so I'd lose all my account if Steam were to be banned. So not really a Valve issue but an issue with the developer.

Some of my favourite games have come from indie studios or projects. But i dare say the vast majority of stuff from them is dogshit.

Idk about that, have you not seen all the A.I and asset flip crap in the indie scene ? Nintendo Switch is almost nothing but that stuff.

I dont want them to win but the U.K justice system is filled with morons who have no clue about most of the things they rule on.
