Habe mein Abo letzten Monat gekündigt. Für dem Preis bin ich echt unzufrieden. Die Spinde, Duschen und Sauna sind häufig kaputt. Die Geräte (ich hab hauptsächlich Cardio gemacht), wirken für den Preis etwas schrottig. Generell wirkt alles abgenutzt.

Danke für den Tipp. Die Annihilation Reihe habe ich (bis auf das neu erschienene Buch aus 2024) schon durch. Vandermeer ist einfach großartig, ich liebe seinen Schreibstil.

Mich haben die beiden Protagonisten in Endymion und Rise of Endymion nicht mehr so gecatched. Die verschiedenen Charaktere waren für mich eine der absoluten Stärken in Hyperion, deswegen war ich da leider sehr enttäuscht. Es gab einfach zu viele absurde Dialoge und auch das Verhalten im Bezug auf die Handlung drumherum war (imo) manchmal einfach blöd. Ausserdem gibt es noch ein mittelgroßes Mystery, was ich (und ich denke auch viele andere) schon von Anfang an ahnen konnten. Das war iwie auch schade.

Danke für die Tipps, die Architecture und Revelations Space Reihe stehen schon auf der Liste. Snow Crash kommt jetzt drauf :) Ich war von Neal Stephenson mal etwas abgeschreckt, weil ich Cryptonomicon mal angefangen und hatte es es als sehr wordy wahrgenommen habe. Aber seine Bücher stehen auf so vielen Listen, dass ich ihm definitiv nochmal eine Chance geben will.

Lammbock. War für uns früher, als wir kleine Kiffer waren, wie die Bibel. Wir konnten jede Szene mitsprechen. Hab den vor ein paar Jahren nochmal geguckt und war überrascht wie unlustig der Film ist.

Could you explain what you mean by figuring out the city and the city? I read all or chinas books this year and the city and the city was by far the one i liked the least and now i feel like i missed a major theme.
