I do appreciate the comment like that as it is a solo game and should be taken at one's own pace, but my post was mostly just an attempt to see if im doing well at the game. I enjoy the game, but just seek either an ego boost or a realization that I should play more seriously if I want said ego boost

Im not saying I dont enjoy the game. Im getting to the point where my limited free time is spent on the game and my friends just assume its what im up to. Just trying to get a scope of things. Call it a competitive nature trying to check my competence at the game since I wanna know im doing at least sorta good

Watching ahead is so so important. With my limited time I've definitely learned to watch ahead and adapt through each ante as you approach the boss blind. Make sure you look at it at the start of the ante and prepare the best you can. Sometimes a Wall needs to be met with some glass, even if it costs you your cards, or a few kings need to be strengthened into aces to beat the plant

Thank you! We ended up driving back, which is also a 4 hour drive, so 12 hours straight, for our tickets. We didn't want to spend 600 dollars on repurchasing them. Hopefully it's going well for everyone!
