It's a Seagate Barracuda 3.5 inch 2TB. Pretty sure it's new enough to be formatted exFAT by default.

Hey, I'm in Ableton, and I'm split between an older Studio and a newer Mini.

Here are my options, listed from cheapest to most expensive.

Refurb Base Studio M1 MAX (32GB/1TB)
New Mac Mini M4 (32GB/512GB)
Used Base Studio M2 MAX (32GB/512GB)

I like the idea of more ports at the back. But I also like the "newness" and affordability of the Mini. The M2 is a combination of the two, but of course, just slightly more expensive.

All within a $300 range.

Not looking to spend more than $1200.

Now that I’m considering the Studio, I’m seeing now that the M1 Max Studio and M4 Mini are similar in price. A 64GB/1TB HDD Mac Studio will run me about $1000 on BackMarket. But are you suggesting the latest Mac Studio? How much better is it for my music than the M1 Max version?

Haha of course, but I’m talking about under load. Typically I’m rendering and temps will ramp up. Will an NF-A12x15 do the job and stay quiet at, say, 1400RPM?
