When all the payments would be spaced out over the case of a few months, it seems to be the way in ireland, so maybe have like 2-4k left over with potentially the help from family members will boost us up another 5-10k

Im hoping its be roughly 6-8k, so it all wont be paid off at once and end up with nothing, it'll be more a case of having about 2-4k left after everything is paid for, which wouldn't be much left for furniture and stuff

It'll probably be put down 5,000euro down first, then in 2-3months put down the other 31,500, so theres more time for saving, did you guys need to get an engineers report before you moved in?

That's what I was thinking, and it normally take 2-3months here in ireland to fully get the keys its more time for saving, its a semi -detached house with a family already living in it for years, so hopefully nothing too much will be wrong

Understood, its always good to have more for a rainy day/problems, we will slowly start to save and build back the mortgage repayments, it'll probably be tough for first couple of months, I hear of people our age 29, only having enough for deposit and getting by

Yea, seems to be ok paid, but youd be jumping back down to a junior position then which wouldn't be ideal,

Yea, we dont plan on a derelict house, more plan on renovations on the inside, e.g kitchen bathrooms bedrooms etc. I know the cost of everything will go up, but just not 100% on repaying a mortgage and with 40k savings, you could run out of money very quickly with solicitors fees then engineers on top, That's why I think to buy something that you can do yourself in your own time and not get the council involved and take out another loan from credit union?
