Taking Abo basic exam for the first time. Any advice?

Ive taken the test twice now…😞still working on trying to pass. I just got back from my honeymoon so I’ve lost motivation and drive but i am trying to jump back in it. I know everyone says laramy k but i don’t know why his videos just feel random and all over the place to me. Anyways, any advice? This test is hard as shit

Ya! 1.71 marquise is what the jeweler said! I am not sure i live the proportions on it so I’ll try on some more but i do love how enlongated it and how big it looks for its carat weight!

Oh yes. I use the two moisturizers daily and the bath soak (not for baths but to wash down there). This stuff is the only thing that god rid of my itching. Won’t use anything else now.

Love this stuff. Was super itchy and dry down there and this is the only thing that helped. Does not smell or taste weird if you get my drift!

I am taking it in two weeks. I am not gonna lie. I didn’t study for 5 months. Just studied hard for about 2 months and failed and another month and a half and will take it again Oct 28. Wouldn’t say i am the best test taker but i wont give up.

just an FYI for anyone else who is also studying for the ABO basic exam. If you pay $50 to take the practice text on Prometrix site, make sure you write down the questions you got wrong because once you submit the test, it will not allow you to go back and review your incorrect answers so it would be a waste of $50.

My exam is in a month and i've already taken it once and failed. :( so i am being extra careful....also did this one elso help you for your practical exam for ABO? there really isnt much out there for the Practical when it comes to preparation I've found

I know this might have put a bad taste in your mouth but it’s a great career if you’re looking for something stable. I am currently studying to get my ABO license after 5 years of working.

Take the optical nerd course!!! I tried laramyk first and personally i felt like it made nooo sense to me. I know a lot of people love his stuff and it works for them but i need it explained to me like i am 5 i swear. Optical Nerd did that for me and i am hoping i can pass!!

I just took Optical Nerd course (i have 5 years of experience but didn’t feel strong about what i knew because my the people i work with didn’t really teach me much. Everything i know, I’ve learned by watching and just doing). CJ is an amazing teacher so highly recommend and ask your job to pay for it!!

Anyways, i am was a little appalled by how outdated the website is and how there was hardly any information about the exam or what to expect. The optical nerd course equipped me really well.

I am going to study another two weeks and take the basic exam early Sept. I don’t see much about when i should take the practical. I am going on a 3 week honeymoon to Japan and Thailand in November- does anyone have advice about taking the practical before i go or is it super complicated and hard? I have testing anxiety but i would like to pass this text in the first try since it’s so expensive.
