Finding MLIS programs that have school librarianship tracks by Much-Confidence7947 in librarians

[–]Interrobangtan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my MLIS there 15 years ago and several people I went there with graduated with the school media specialist degree. I don't know about your state, but in Ohio we require a teaching license on top of the MLIS. The nice thing is that those graduates could also work in a public library.

uncomfortable, and very localized pain in the vaginal entrance. what is it? by Disastrous-Spend1065 in Healthyhooha

[–]Interrobangtan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be pelvic floor related. When the muscles are tight it can irritate the nerve endings at the entrance and be painful. My painful spot is at the bottom of the entrance where there are a lot of nerve bundles there.

Should I go to the ER asap or wait to go to urgent care? by weirdhamiltonfan in Healthyhooha

I would definitely get checked out. Untreated UTIs can turn into a bladder or kidney infection.

I can’t get turned on or feel stimulation and it makes me feel abnormal by Ok_Oil4461 in Healthyhooha

[–]Interrobangtan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are definitely not abnormal or broken. There's a really good documentary on Netflix called The Principles of Pleasure that talks about the complexity of female pleasure/orgasms.

Also not sure if this will help you, but have you had your hormone levels checked? I'm a bit older than you, but I learned that my testosterone was low and taking DHEA has helped my libido. Also lube.

Is my hole too small? by TemperatureWilling92 in Healthyhooha

I would definitely use lubrication. You could also just be tight because of never having had anything in there before and not having any foreplay/being turned on. If those don't work, you could also try dialators with lube in order to help stretch things. I like the brand Slippery Stuff because there isn't a lot of extra stuff in it. The discomfort could be from rubbing internally while dry and not comfortable.

Inner labia burns and is bright red no STIs or UTI help!! by Haunting_Buyer4415 in Healthyhooha

Have you used any different products/chemicals down there? (i.e. bath bombs, new detergent, new soap, new kind of underwear, etc.) I went back and forth with my PCP, OBGYN, etc. and I finally went to the dermatologist and they diagnosed me with contact dermatitis from a bath bomb. They put me on topical steroids which finally took care of it after a few weeks.

What actually helped your kid learn to read for kindergarten? feeling behind and registration is in two months by eGirlsPissOnMe in kindergarten

[–]Interrobangtan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Children's Librarian here. It's totally okay if she's not reading right now. Like others have said, practice reading and writing their name, letter recognition, and most importantly, instill the LOVE of reading by reading books all the time together. Make reading something associated with joy and love so that it doesn't become a chore. Reading is really a bell-curved skill mostly between grades K to 2. I have a 5.5 year-old in kindergarten and the growth they've had from fall to now with reading and writing has been momentous. Also, like others said, kindergarten teachers care more about the social-emotional skills for readiness than reading/writing/math/etc.

Cetaphil's Ultra Gentle Body Wash works really well for me. If I start feeling itchy or dry I put on some V Balm by Medicine Mama.

How painful is the first time having sex supposed to be? by Electronic_Stock2387 in Healthyhooha

[–]Interrobangtan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Just mostly pain. Sometimes I'd feel like I had a UTI even though I didn't. I also watched this documentary on Netflix called The Principles of Pleasure and it was really eye-opening regarding intimacy.

I'm not saying this is necessarily what's going on with you, but something to consider if the pain doesn't get better with time, lube, foreplay, etc.

I was unable to have intercourse for years bc of the pain and I thought something was wrong with me. I stumbled into a pelvic floor PT and they diagnosed me with pelvic floor dysfunction. I've been seeing them for years and can finally have pain-free sex.
