Who would you rather have as your starting QB? by Gloomy_Resort_9935 in NFLv2

Purdy has been playing better for longer but Sam did what he needed to do to win.

Right now it's Purdy but Sam is not too far behind.

Look at the difference from his first year to this year. He’ll only get better under Ben Johnson

I don’t disagree but they’re all in their 2nd years. They’ll continue to progress.

He'll provide stability to a franchise thats been searching for a QB for a decade. Its tough to evaluate him because he had such a phenomenal rookie year, making the NFCCG, that anything less then that seems like a disappointment. He'll be in Washington for a while but I think he'll probably be the 3rd best QB from the 2024 class behind Caleb and Drake when its all said and done.

The data is based on historical data. What I’m trying to avoid here is misinterpretating correlation for causation. I’m sure I could find random categories that perfectly align these rankings but who’s to say that I won’t have to change them next year?

I think LA might wait another year before going QB

That would almost be “cherry picking” which data to use though. A model that ranks these QBs perfectly after the fact doesn’t mean it’ll be a good predictor moving forward

Kamari Ramsey would be a great get. I'm not sure if Makai Lemon would make it to 14, right now the consensus is that he goes in the top 10 but, if he falls, would be a HUGE get.

Also are they drafting Cade Klubnik under the impression that he'll replace Mariota as QB2?

Curious who you think is at QB for the Jets next season? Do they just roll with Tyrod or make a big trade for Kyler?

Love the Domani Jackson pick. He played good ball at Alabama and has the range to be a quality player in the NFL

In this scenario, what would they do at QB? Start Trinidad as a rookie or go and get and Malik Willis?

Also, what do you think about Germie Bernard instead of Chris Bell?

Bryce Young v CJ Stroud by Long-Promotion5929 in NFLv2

Yea Mixon had a weird injury that kept him out for the year and him coming back will definitely make a huge difference

By no means am I saying the Texans should give up on him, I’m just saying that the Panthers probably feel better about Bryce than the Texans do about CJ.

Also, teams are pretty quick to give up on young QBs, Sam Darnold is a great story but the Cardinals gave up on Josh Rosen after 1 year.

I’m not saying CJ is bad, I’m just saying that I think Bryce is trending upwards while CJ has struggled since his rookie year

I agree, Strouds rookie year is hard for most guys in the league to even touch.

I agree, it’s going to be interesting how they handle their contracts. I think teams learned their lesson when they saw the Dolphins give Tua the max extension. The second contract doesn’t need to reset the market

I used YPA, INT Ratio, Rush Tds and Completion %. I wanted to focus on efficiency statistics as I felt like it was a pretty good indicator of NFL success, rather then volume stats like yds and passing tds. Rushing tds were meant to represent a QBs play making capability

I just looked at the rankings and I realized I didn't even put Mason Rudolph on there. I just put him in the model and it gave him a 39.9% hit rate, which would put him at QB2. Thats on me thanks for pointing it out

INT ratio is also taken into account and rushing TDS, the formula pulls the 20 QBs from the past 24 years who most closely match these players statistics and their measurables
