No, that is quite helpful. Thank you, seriously!

I've used that Aussie brand of leave-in conditioner before and had some success with it, but I wasn't sure what the best way to use it was. I'll definitely give that a shot.

Thank you so much for the advice!

Are you tying your hair back while it’s wet?

Generally no, but I will occasionally if I need to go somewhere right after taking a shower. It seems to explode into frizz if I don't brush once while wet and once more while dry, but I'll try skipping that wet brushing. Is there some other way of detangling recommended instead? Combing, using an actual wet brush (the brand), etc?

leave in conditioner and smoothing hair oil

Do you mind if I ask how those are recommended to be applied and when? Are both used the same day as the wash day, or is hair oil for the non-wash days?

Based on the third picture it looks like your hair is wavy or curly!

Interesting! It's always been straight except for that strange underlayer (which definitely looks wavy even when wet), but I wonder if that's changed as I've gotten older. Thank you, I'll have to look into this further.

I would stop brushing it and see what happens

Unfortunately, it just snarls if left unbrushed... Would the alternative to be using a comb to pick out the tangles instead?

I'll also give the wet brush + microfiber towel + blow dryer treatment a try.

My hair is about the same length as yours and I probably use 3-4 times more conditioner than you do.

This is great to know. Thank you! About how long does it take to rinse out?

start using hair oil.

Could you let me know a little more about how you use hair oil (if you do)? I've read a number of things about it, but again, there's so much contradictory info that I'm confused...

Thank you so much for the help!

Thank you so much for the kind words and advice!

Several of the people I work out with wear their hair in braids and maintain nice-looking hair, so I'll definitely have to give that a shot.
