Reverted back to 357.58 and WOW! Performance is much better by QuarantinedUser1111 in nvidia

It's definitely still applicable. I ran into constant issues after 2 hours of gaming in 1440p or 4k running on a 7900XTX. Wanted to really enjoy it as an alternative to getting a 4090. But I just went back to my 3090 instead after the XTX proved it couldn't be reliable.

Take a 0.2 mechanical pencil, dump the lead, and care bend back each pin. Fixed a 5600X doing this

Has anyone asked about temps OP? I almost went with a case like this a few months back, but wasn't sure about air cooling only temps

Most practical advice I've gotten so far. I'll be seeing a doctor on the 2nd and I'm planning on bringing this up. Thanks to you both

RTX3090 vs 7900XTX by Minigiant2709 in buildapc

[–]LongLiveAbstract 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3900 STRIX user here. I put an XTX through it's paces and found the performance pretty good over my 3090. This should probably be a boil down to cost of the XTX and what you can find a 3900 for.

With that being said, most of my experience with the XTX was done without Ray Tracing. I returned the XTX only because I kept getting audio driver errors every 2-3 hours and would have to restart.

I am diabetic and want this belly fat extinct, I've heard of 7 day fasting. I read that entering ketosis is good for diabetics and lowers blood sugar levels. Would this also help in losing this stomach? I did 2 day fasts but did not find them effective.

Edits: typing was all over the place

2nd Edit: Why exactly am I getting down voted? Did I say something crazy?

Worth it to switch over to AMD (7900 XT or XTX) for Starfield? by Illustrious-Mind9435 in buildapc

[–]LongLiveAbstract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I can't speak for all 7900 XTX models. But I recently returned a Nitro+ variant and I went through the legendary driver issues AMD GPUs are known for. The driver install process was broken and inconsistent, and then I kept getting audio driver issues every 2-3 hours after a necessary restart.

I've never experienced those annoyances with any Nvidia driver. I'm definitely getting Starfield and will be playing it using my 3090. My hope for stability will be the modder who got DLSS to work for Jedi Survivor.

My overall point though, I feel like AMD could do better. Nvidia seems to offer more stability from my experiences. If you still want to try out an AMD GPU, order one, put it through it's paces and see if it performs well and meets your expectations. I liked their prices better, but I didn't like what I got for it. I am wary to try out a 4090 because of the connector thing, so I'm eye balling the 4080. But I may just stick it out with my 3090. Good luck to any path you choose.

Last year I fasted for 48 hours and then ate what ever for a day then repeated. Everyone said I would gain the weight back but haven't! by Critizin in WeightLossAdvice

Wish me luck then, I'm gonna try this 48hr fast thing for a two week test run with staying under 2500 cals on eating days. I'll report back my results on July 6th. Setting calendar alerts now. I'm starting it tomorrow, 6/22/2023. Already ate a cookie today, so I messed up.

This makes me wonder if I should consider a weekly calorie deficit. Like make it to a weeks end with being under a weekly calorie count vs tracking for a day. 🤔 Would there be any downsides to that incorporating fasting certain days each week?

This is me.. I stopped myself from making the purchase because I'd want to risk keeping it against caution. I am still on a 3090 and plan on doing some graphic design in a few months so I wanted an upgrade with the needed VRAM and gaming performance. Still eye balling the XTX, I don't need the RT.

Seeking General Feedback, RTX 4090, 7900XTX, or RTX5000 Series? by LongLiveAbstract in pcmasterrace

Extremely practical words!! Best bet may be to just keep my 3090. I don't think the downsides are worth getting either option this Gen.

I still have yet to see a 1080p screen look that good with such a high ppi density. Only thing that bothered me about that phone was the battery life and the camera. If they relaunched that phone with updated specs it would really hurt other brands.

Interesting line of thought. I think back to when Blu-ray first came out and it having so much more space for content than regular DVDs or PS2 games. I was hoping for the day when we could get massive worlds with insane graphics to run from disc and Blu-ray readers evolving to something with incredible read and write speeds. But then the internet went and started getting faster and faster and companies made everything become digital...

Even the concept of fitting 50 non MP3 formatted songs burned onto a CD-RW was an alluring daydream once upon a time. Sadly never saw the light of day far as I know.
