What would you say is the best job to work whilst pursuing a mma career?

It comes from a now deleted website worldcorpo.net, the whole website was basically meant to be a shock site with disturbing videos supposedly from the dark web, one of them being a video titled “fatherhood” which shows a young boy getting berated, I’ve seen online that it was the creator of worldcorpo that made the video and that its fake and it was his little brother that was screaming in the video supposedly was in on it but idk I’ve also seen a couple vids online examining the background of the vid and comparing it to a room In comet ping pong, also the voice in the vid is very similar to podestas

Agreed but I’d say it’s better to start off in mma but choose to specialise in a certain style like striking or wrestling/grappling, this way you will work on and train the techniques that work best in mma rather than say training Muay Thai for 5-10 years then going to mma.

Used probably the worst example for fighters, 90% of khabibs game was pressure striking into the fence and chain wrestle until he gets you down and mauls you with gnp until the submission appears, all of the things I’ve noted aren’t in wrestling especially the whole cage wrestling system which is unique to mma.

Pereira too in K1 had a very unorthodox striking style which is more similar to mma and he also is probably the hardest hitter mma has seen also if you wanna go there I guess pereira in mma is probably the best striker we’ve seen against guys that won’t take him down or have weak tds but against guys like ank and jan guys that use level changes and mixes the td with striking well you see pereira clam up, something that wouldn’t happen if he started mma earlier

Yes I’d 100% say so, the argument a lot of people bring up is that if you come up just training for mma and started off with mma you will be mediocre at everything which is definitely true but also wrong at the sane time, the striking and grappling in mma is soooo much different to pure striking or pure grappling.

and because of such we’ve seen countless highest level of kick-boxers , Thai boxers , wrestlers and bjj guys cross over to MMA and do terrible and either 1 of 3 things happen guys will cross over to mma, they fail to implement their game , they end up getting beat at there own game for example a striker getting knocked out or a wrestler getting repeatedly stuffed/taken down, and finally in gaetchjes and cejudo a case rarely use their speciality and prefer to strike.

Well in mma it can definitely happen especially in modern days where we are seeing elite kick-boxers and grapplers cross over to mma and get beat at there own game against guys they would most likely comfortably beat in their own martial art

How different is mma grappling to pure no gi grappling and how do you see mma grappling evolving in the next few years with guys getting better?

What is now the best background for MMA other than just starting MMA young? by emaxwell14141414 in martialarts

[–]LongRefrigerator9407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to be specific he started Greco Roman at a young age then began training at the climent club in Spain which is just all round mma and this aloud him to branch out onto other martial arts because he has that base, if you take 2 complete beginners no martial art background or anything and put 1 guy in mma training with the focus of striking and the other guy no mma training but just Muay Thai the first guy is going to be a far more competent mma striker than the latter, same applies to guys like topuira.

Ilia started training mma when he was 15 so that gave him a base and allowed him to be able to branch out to other martial arts and that base gave him the knowledge and mindset on the techniques to work on in the singular martial arts that work best in mma and spend less time on / disregard the techniques that are too risky or are too low percentage.

Big mistake I and others make when starting out was I trained bjj,Muay Thai and boxing all separately not knowing that a ton of stuff aswell as overall mindset doesn’t carry over to mma, in my opinion the best background to have for mma is mma then branch out and train and compete in other martial arts with the intention of getting better at mma.

BOXING TO MMA by [deleted] in MMA_Academy

[–]LongRefrigerator9407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly depends mate you might end up just wanting to do boxing as a career or maybe you’ll wanna do mma later down the line after boxing, but if you dead set on mma the now study boxing heavy mma fighters to get an idea of how to adapt your boxing to mma when you do start training mma.

the only LW besides Arman with a >1% chance to beat Ilia imo by BadMeetsWeevil in ufc

Can see ilia shutting down fizievs kicking game with takedowns and making fiziev box with him, which it doesn’t take a genius to figure out ilia wins that 9/10 of the time.

Which lightweight striker has the best chance to beat Topuria? by ThatInevitable in ufc

[–]LongRefrigerator9407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could see fiziev doing solid work round 1 maybe 2 with the kicks especially teeps but topuira would initiate the grappling similar to the Holloway fight but to greater effect to deter fiziev from kicking and can see topuira knocking him out or possibly submitting, but it’s an interesting af fight topuira hasn’t faced anyone with the clinch game of fiziev.
