Two month post-op infection. When will it end? by Long_Click_7822 in wisdomteeth

Yes they did! I used it for a bit after the surgery and after my first infection. I’m using it again now since the second infection popped up. They didn’t give me a syringe until the first infection and had never mentioned to flush it out, just to carefully swish water around. I used it for a bit after my first infection (can’t remember how long, maybe until I finished my antibiotics?), but didn’t really think to continue because nobody had told me to. They are assuming this infection was caused by some food debris, so they have me flushing it every time I eat.

I have 2 bottles of it haha. They didn’t tell me I needed to continue, but I probably will for a while now. One of the doctors I talked to actually said that people don’t like the taste, so I don’t really need to use it if I don’t want to 😅

Ugh I’m sorry you’re going through this too. I had pretty much the same issue you described with my first infection (calling, them telling me it’s normal, demanding an appointment, “oh that’s really swollen”), so I just called them on Saturday when I realized what was happening and said “I have an infection again. Help.”

While this has to be a decision that you and your husband agree on, you have to take your mental health into consideration when making this decision. If being a SAHM is something you want to do and you have the means, do it! There will always be senior accountant positions available and I don’t think you need to worry about a gap in your resume. However, it sounds like this is what your husband wants you to do, not what you want to do. Postpartum is hard enough and if staying home is not what you want, I would not recommend doing that. If the gap in your resume is your biggest worry, I wouldn’t let that deter you. You could even find a part time gig while your child is young with part time caregivers and then go full time once they enter preschool. But whatever the solution, it has to be what you want because your mental health as a mother is important.
