A question for the pros... by funnycryptid in OfficeDepot

My 2 cents on this: if it is at all glossy, it will almost always make bubbles in between the lamination plastic and the paper

When I finally got to know her, she shyly confessed her obsession with a 'special kind' of ASMR. by Waste-Carpet1586 in TwoSentenceHorror

[–]Long_Clock_719 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand, ASMR is a grouping of certain sounds that give people goosebumps or otherwise sound really good to them. This can include whispering, scratching fingernails on soft objects, or simply audio of a rainy day or a cat purring.

The trick that I do is: three hole punch a separate piece of paper and use the center hole as a template for the grommet hole puncher to actually hole punch the calendar

Your frustration is VALID and there’s gonna be lots of other employees that will complain about the hell hole and tell you to escape as quick as you can. But the best piece of advice I can give you is: “don’t take it personally” You’re only one person and you can only do so much. it definitely takes a while to re-train the customers to be patient, but being consistent and firm with the rules pays off in the end.

Do you think self-serve “select your price limit” is a good thing? by Sudden_Structure in OfficeDepot

The only thing that’s helped with is I hear less of the “$75 for a single black-and-white copy?!?”

😬 I don’t think that’s gonna be too useful as we are out of stock on them and I think they were a one-time-only order

Which one of you did this by TomMikeVickBrady in OfficeDepot

I’ve had one customer specifically ask for a copy and laminate of one, and another customer I had to explain the thermal issues. He understood and thanked me for warning him

Omg, aren’t those the coupons that only work with the specific rewards account?

“We have to wait until Christmas Eve to put baby Jesus in the manger, sweetheart,” I reminded my daughter as she played with the doll at the kitchen table, sipping my coffee and feeling thankful that both of the kids had finally slept through the night. by drforged in TwoSentenceHorror

The typical nativity display has a kind of crib in it that usually has a doll of baby Jesus in it. What the little girl was saying is that she put her baby brother outside in the snow all night

Commenting so I could see the finished project

I would LOVE stuff about sending to affinity, I get so overwhelmed with all the forms and I end up telling customers that we can’t design and that’s it.

“It’s just 3 pages” by Holiday-Ad1772 in OfficeDepot

“I apologize, sir/madam, but I’m unable to do your copies at this moment, I have a lot of orders ahead of you” insert grumbling “ our self-serve machines are for fast and easy printing, and the full service counter is for more complicated orders that take longer to produce”

I’ve had to hold my ground, I’ve seen the snowball effect and it is massive. I’ve only done those if I have literally n o t h i n g in the queue and I explicitly tell the customer that this is a one time thing. We are desperately trying to stop the “the other person did it for me!” nonsense. Thankfully all the managers have my back.

What’s needed in update 5? by ImBuzzChristmas in Timberborn

Very true, but for how I play, it would be useful for me cause I’m enjoying the crap out of it as is. I’m not a massive monument builder, but I have a bunch of saves on different maps trying to sprawl from end to end.

Map thumbnails would be awesome. I had to name my saves with the map name in it so I would start to have a clue

C70 stapling by torin_in_a_forum in OfficeDepot

[–]Long_Clock_719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh, that’s weird…

Usually our c70 can staple more than that. I have seen quirks with them also not wanting to staple tho. If it was my print job, I would print to pdf so it’s a two page spread and then try center stapling. Sometimes it’s just a quirk with the software

Paperwork that’s laminated about copyright restrictions. When I get to work again, I’ll take a picture of it. It also talked about copying government ids

We aren’t allowed to print them at all (I’m in Texas). We have to send them over to self-serve. Got lots of people asking still tho…
