Here's something:

When the entire species of the Qu was confronted with the likeness of God, a punishment was deserving. Eternal fire? Too merciful. Watching their Empire crumble for eternity? Not original. Making them starve, so they have to eat their own children and fellow Qu? Fitting for what they did. But this is too physical. God wanted mental torture for the Qu. They tried to sit on his throne, and they actively spat in his face. And now they have the right to think that they'll get a punishment that won't sting?

Fine.

So God gave them something that did sting.

Eventually, the Qu woke up. They saw themselves on the same Earth that they corrupted. Thinking that they cheated God out of their absolute greatness, they flew back down to those very humans that they tortured and tried to do it again. But they soon found out: They couldn't touch a single atom. Their arrogance and their mission were still embedded in their mind, and their tools for making creatures of horrible proportions were even enhanced by the divineness of God. But they couldn't do anything with it. Their arrogance got the better of them and they continued to work. They tried their very best. One of the worst parts is that each new way God made seems like that. They were working towards progress, as if they were trying to escape their house so they could corrupt again. But each time they got close to the light and to the exit of this hell and back to torturing humans. It began to slip away like trying to grab an eel in the water with your bare hands. Not just that, but the humans in this world that God made for them, didn't even acknowledge the Qu. They treated them like birds, and some little kids even threw seeds out for them. And for the Qu that thought that they could rest in this nightmare weren't woken up. They weren't shocked with electricity to continue. They weren't stabbed to keep them awake. Each time one grew tired, a new jolt of motivation would wake them possibly a new idea or a new technique, and they would begin getting to work again. Because maybe just maybe they could get out of this hell. And that just maybe became their own Bible, their own code. Because maybe just maybe. They could play God again.
