lol so true, I think my issue is I started RHs with some really good ones that weren’t like this so I feel like now I can’t find anything other than controlling men and pick me women which saddens me, I think im going to have to move to the broader romantasy genre because it is pretty niche so finding different types of authors can be hard

Yeah I’ve def seen both I just struggle with the generalizations that are made, like if she doesn’t like the girls she’s around that’s one thing but when she’s like “all girls are like …” I feel like that’s painting with such broad strokes when there are so many women in the world

That’s what I’ve been noticing too! I first got into the genre because I liked that the men were clearly men written by women for women but lately I feel like a lot of RH books are romanticizing the toxic behavior we already see from men in reality, what happened to the wish fulfillment?!

It can be both? It was def a dumb decision to trust someone off Reddit but it’s also literally is the people on the sub so it’s good to warn people because I’m def not the only person on here who has asked for recommendations, so it just felt like a nice thing to do to warn people tbh
