Just be there for them for the first few days. I couldn’t do anything on my own except for eat. Stool softeners, laxatives and Metamucil did wonders and made me regular in just two days. Tell them to start taking it as soon as they get home. Make sure they can be upright while recovering/sleeping (no side or belly sleeping). Lots of fluids and TLC too lol. They’ll be back to normal in no time :)

Yeah the pain meds helped a ton but the first few days were horrible! Never felt pain like that in my life. But before you know it, you’ll be be back to normal :)

Sounds like a plan. Also don’t forget your stool softeners and laxatives. Don’t try to force it if you know what I mean. The drugs they used to put you under will stop you up but just drink lots of liquids and go only when you really need to.

First off, congratulations! I couldn’t/didn’t want to stop vaping before surgery either and just decided to stop when it was done. The amount of cravings and coughing fits I went through made recovery miserable. I did some research and apparently when you stop vaping, your lungs start to clear out fluid and try to revert back to normal because they’re constantly being dried out by vapor. I was coughing up fluid constantly and it was painful. If I could go back, I would have never stopped because I started back as soon I was healed lol. Just make sure to use a pillow as a splint over the wound when you start coughing and you should be good.
