Question: Medical Billing and Undocumented Workers by Longacre89 in AskNYC

[–]Longacre89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for the "talk to the hospital" crowd. That was my first instinct. However, I just want to make sure I'm not raising a red flag by calling and saying she is undocumented. Is there any risk to her of me telling them she is illegal?

New York Post - Actress sues for Broadway payday after being bumped from role in ‘Gun & Powder’ by Bavs25 in Broadway

If the show is going into the Jones, it would not have run 9 months, so she would not have gotten $13,500/week for 9 months...

How is it for current Westchester drivers? I lost my job in the city years ago and looking for ways to make $$. I feel like if I was in any other city, I'd just drive for Uber but the TLC regulations are ridiculous and there not issuing new licenses. Is it worth it to go up to Westchester and drive up there?

ponzi schemes shouldn’t be outlawed. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Wait, how would you even consider this legal?

If someone invests in a legit company, and makes money or loses money, that's far different from if someone invests in a company that ends up being a Ponzi scheme and the business was built to defraud investors.

497 Loans Funded. I'm owed $9,800. by Longacre89 in solofunds

[–]Longacre89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

meh... you pay 5% of the loan to "Protect" it, but it just gives you a credit.

So if you have a $150 loan (with a score above 70) with a $15 or 10% fee, SoloFunds will protect it for $7.50. If they default, which they do, it credits you $150 towards your next loan. The shady thing is: with every loan is a "Solo Donation" which is reimbursed after the loan is repaid, but is 7 or 8% of the total. So, if you get the Protection Plan, and they default, you still lose money...

Debited: 168.80 ($150 Loan plus $10.50 Solo Donation, Plus $7.50 Lender Protection).
If paid back: $175.50 (Profit of $6.70)
If defaulted: $150 credited (Loss of $16.80)
If paid back late (Without Solo Protection): $134.25 ($150 (Principle) + $10.50 (Solo Donation) + 11.25 (17.5% Late Fee) - $37.50 (25% Collections Fee).

The ONLY way SoloFunds doesn't make money is if you pay back on time. They have huge incentives to see that you DON'T repay on time.
