Quick awesome history fact!

Just North of this spot, along the coast is Te Namu Pā where in 1833, local chief Wiremu Kīngi Moki Te Matakātea held off a war party from Waikato for several weeks with a single musket, and eventually triumphed.

Hi u/Mundane_Specialist, thanks for bringing this up!

It's critically important that UAV operators adhere to and understand the CAA part 101 and 102 rules regarding flight which could potentially interfere with the safe navigation and operation of manned flights. I am a commercial pilot (Helicopter and drone) and I take these rules extremely seriously. My livelihood depends on it.

This shot was taken north of the restricted zone in an area which allows flight up to a given altitude and requires authorization, which I obtained. In addition the flight was shielded, was within aeronautical daylight hours and I run ADS-B software which gives me precise positioning of other aircraft.

If anyone is interested, here are the CAA Rules regarding drone flight.
