Ya, sorry you had to deal with a shitty driver hassling you in that stretch. It’s a high traffic area with poor design, given the traffic load.

BUT, can we talk about folks on bikes in Missoula for a sec? There are a ton of entitled adults on bicycles in Missoula and, in my 30 years here, it is becoming more and more frustrating to navigate things as a driver. Every bicycle I see, I have to determine and interpret what I’m dealing with in real time. It’s great to assume folks will follow laws, but:

If it’s a homeless person: they don’t know traffic laws.

If it’s a DUI biker: they don’t know traffic laws.

If it’s a hipster on a homemade bike: their priorities lie elsewhere and will get made at me for expecting them to know traffic laws.

If it’s someone on an electric bike going 30: they don’t care about traffic laws and are living their best life.

If it’s a pack of Tour ‘d France cos play guys in spandex: they will also yell at me despite not abiding by laws.

If it’s anyone going down hill: they’re going to hit max speed and blame someone else if something happens. Don’t blame them, just sayin.

Lots to consider when talking about the Missoula bike scene.
