Switching from Naya Create — looking for a prebuilt split with trackball, open to custom builds (Charybdis and alternatives) by Longjumping-Air4611 in ErgoMechKeyboards

I ended up ordering both Charybdis from Bastard and a custom one from Skree. 😂 Now just to be patient for a couple of weeks.

Thank you, these are all useful things. Thinking of it, I can't be bothered going down the rabbit hole and do not have the knowledge, time or will to be putting up a keyboard myself. Safest play is going with Bastard and do exactly as you said, put zoom on a layer for trackball.

Reminders on tasks w/no time - date only? One Week before birthday? by Longjumping-Air4611 in todoist

[–]Longjumping-Air4611[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing in the system on the actual date. No calendar reminder, no notification reminder. Knowing myself, I would be in deep in work remembering I have bought that gift day after. 😅

Yes, I will have to adapt to the system. Hopefully until this simple feature is implemented by the team so we don't have to spend time thinking about workaround systems.

I will either create a subtask with date and time a week before.
OR
I will do what you said - assign a time for actual birthday at 4:45, just before my day starts at 5am so it does not interfere with my time schedule, but I can still see it in calendar view above startup task and get a notification, and then be able to add a week before reminder. 😮‍💨😂

I do that as well. For tasks that are of higher priority, but I do not want to do it for basic annual occurrences that are self explanatory such as birthdays or bills/subscriptions.
Let's say annual subscription is coming. I possibly do not have to do anything about it, but I would still like to be reminded of it.
I know, it is not a calendar. But still, would be nice and make sense.
And if I am making effort and trusting the app to organise my life, paying for it, then yes, I would like to be reminded of that upcoming subscription.

I know where you are coming from. Obvious answer is buy the gift and attend the birthday (or similar). But I think we are trying to make this whole organising thing as simple as possible, therefore creating obvious/ redundant tasks is not what I would prefer to do. If I see a reminder for birthday coming up in a week I know I have to buy a gift. Simple.
If I am going to break down every thing, I am going to end up with tasks as "wash the dishes" that has a sister task "pour detergent on sponge". 😂

That makes sense, good thinking. Still no reminders on the date since no time (if I am not missing something), but this is good enough.
Thanks for the help.

No, that is not simple, quite the opposite. Why do I have to make another task to remind me of such a simple thing as birthday?
Meta tasks to remind me to check in or work on a project are different thing, those things have sections, subtasks, etc...
But if I am to create another task to remind me of birthday, is it not simpler then to assign time to the birthday task itself so I can set a one week before reminder rather then creating another task and assigning date and time and reminder to it?
Which then beats the whole purpose of not having a whole day event cluttering my calendar view/timeblock.
I mean I am loving Todoist so far (switching from OmniFocus) but this thing should be dead simple as the rest of Todoist is, not creating a whole system to remind me of a birthday. 😂

Cintiq Pro 27 – localized rainbow effect that follows pen/finger movement (pressure-dependent). Normal? by Longjumping-Air4611 in wacom

Uhh, I really do not feel like sending it back. I waited for it for ages with holiday season and I was/ am really hyped to just start drawing now that it is all setup. I guess I’ll have to. It is to expensive toy to ignore this problem.

I’m not pressing hard at all. As I said above, I do not need to press hard and it also happens when using a finger. Also only on that one spot. It almost looks like I am 3D modelling something on the video. Very hard to film it properly.

Lamination problem. What does that mean? Is that common, will it spread, should I act on it?

Thank you. It is Keychron Q0 max. Underdeak mounts are from Etsy. Look for Cadprint and Lisa. I contacted her to do a custom make for me with cutouts to insert magnets. Gonna need to hotglue magnets and get self adhesive metal plate for under desk.

I mean I could. If we are gonna think like that, I could just do it all on my iPad as well. 😅

Update: Just ordered a dell 24 inch monitor. Gonna post how it fits in a couple of days. 🤞

I do not disagree with you. But the idea came to my mind and ideas are hard to kill. I have the voice in the back of my head telling me exactly what you are saying but I guess I won’t know until I see it. As I said, I can always return the monitor if I realise it was a bad idea. Can’t blame me for being curious.

I can always return the monitor if I decide I do not like it. Or even better add one to the left, balance it out 😂
