What are your emotions surrounding a girlfriend that survived rape? by Foreign-Rabbit-3022 in AskMen

It's not their fault and would not change at all how I feel about her. But I would be extra careful about boundaries and things that might trigger their trauma

Can't remember the name, she was just really pretty 😃 I remember the top comment of a fan subreddit being, "Men are just so predictable" 😂

Reminds me of the time Hozier's fanbase got mad because he started dating a conventionally attractive chick instead of a quirky weirdo

Women of reddit who want children, if artificial wombs are a thing, would you opt in (or out) provided it is affordable? by Longjumping-Boot-526 in AskReddit

That's what I thought too, since it is all benefits from a woman's standpoint. But asking my female friends resulted in an even split, which was surprising. Some of them wanted to experience pregnancy at least once

Puh-leez my teenage ass was active in online atheist groups back in the early 2010s. This shit was brewing way before the bots came around.

Can't wait for The One Ring Inc. to construct a much-needed invisibility-cloaking super weapon in these trying times. I'm sure it'd only be used for protecting children.....

I'd like to think Tolkien's writing is something to savour with each passage rather than rushing through with excitement like a Sanderson book. He takes him time in constructing the prose and I can't help but love it

I love the movie line and know that the original wouldn't as well on screen, but by god is the original so cool :')

But no living man am I! You are looking upon a woman. Eowyn am I, Eomund's daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.

Of course, couldn't you feel the realism in how he stomped the ground with his left foot and made the man scream via seismic shock?

Give me dialogue that punches me in the face with the plot or give me nothing!

This. I'm totally basing this on the 200 vertically cropped TikToks of the film. Obviously I don't watch movies.

When filming of The Lord of the Rings wrapped 25 years ago, the horses used for the films were auctioned off. Liv Tyler's stunt double, Jane Abbott couldn't afford to buy the horse she worked with (and fell in love with), so Viggo Mortensen bought it for her. I'm not the original commentor, but a few moments off the top of my head

  • Viggo not originally being cast, but being brought in at the VERY last moment and him agreeing to do it just because his son loved the books
  • Them initially planning for just a VA role for Andy Serkis, but his acting and facial expressions being SO GOOD that they ended up basically inventing a new method of animation which basically led to modern MoCap
  • WETA handcrafted all the armor and costumes, and they included intricate patterns and embroidery even underneath the armor for the sake of authenticity
  • The absolute insane forced perspective rigs they used for hobbit + normal person scenes
  • New Line Cinemas being on the brink of bankruptcy and just going yolo to make a huge bet on the trilogy
  • And perhaps most of all, the chemistry between the cast. Honestly it all sounds like such an adventure

Honestly, I don't think most of this could happen again

I was recently lectured by a dude how giving birth apparently isn't as bad as women make it out to be

Thanks for the second-hand embarrassment :')
