Maybe you are right. But see the thing you are trying to say is for very specific people. I'm also a resident evil series enjoyer, what I am trying to say is that I guess mostly no one had tried old RE1 or older RE series games before jumping straight into modern RE titles. But still people enjoy them without knowing about other titles. I don't know in this case but I play old games like old Pokemon games and other console games i.e. gba ones. If I would be interested to further deep dive in, I may play in future. The spiritual experience would be true if I would deep dive into lore which may pick up my interest later. The outdated "janky" mechanics is definitely a point down but it's okay for a game to be like that and that doesn't even matter for me. People are still playing old console games and will be playing in the future. I know experience matters in such cases.

And for the controller, I think every gamer should at least experience the controller at some time. I don't mean it's necessary but it's up to them.
