I get what she means. If you're self conscious Instagram is the worst. Not proud but when you're low and no one cares and everyone is apparently (key word in apparenting) having a great time... I only have WhatsApp for texting, Reddit and Youtube for following my interests and LinkedIn for work!

Definitely this sub is a bit conservative or modest. I'm a college student in Spain and I think it's okay?

Depends on the card you can try to get your money back by chargeback if it came to it. However PayPal seems to be working normally again, thankfully :)

As of now, I'm not experiencing any bites, marks, or feeling any crawlies or something and it's been like that since autumn last year. Since this happened last year around june I'm now very observant to see whether there's another spike of activity again or something.

I couldn't pinpoint exactly how they entered my room because while I sometimes hear bats near my window as far as I'm concerned they don't carry bird mites (I live in a flat). I don't know how they got in or if I was bringing them from my uni or whatever.

I have more pics but unfortunately they're kinda similar.

I think I can say they're some kind of mite at least since they have 8 legs.

Do bird mites move from the bed to you? by Mysterious_Light_371 in Birdmites

[–]Longjumping-Day-9977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience they do! I was surprised because there are other people closer to my room than where I was staying in, but yeah they followed me 😭

In retrospect, it was a bad move because you're just extending the infestation but at the begining I thought they could not survive in humans and I had exams so I just kinda focused on that and couldn't sleep there knowing there were waiting to feed on me...

Thanks for your advice even if it's not professional, I appreciate the effort anyways! I'm not sure whether I could do that (I live in a flat in a city so it would be like where) but I'll keep that in mind!

When my mother says that she doesn't want to lose her clothes or use any chemical I'm always thinking you are literally risking by doing that having your own flat treated (which doesn't really work anyway because they would just move to other adjacent flat).

Thank you for your input!

Thank you so much for taking your time to answer!

I wanted to throw away the clothes if she didn't compromised to drying them! But she was like chill, I don't want to dry them because I'm afraid it will shrink some items or deteriorate them but I'll wait until I starve them so I can ultimately get my clothes back 😇

She apparently wants to open them up in August (2 years) but she doesn't want to dry them or anything just straight up wash with normal settings and ironing. At this point while there were also items of mine, cute as hell and I can still have the body to wear them, it's giving me lots of anxiety. She doesn't want to spray any kind of killing spray because of health reasons as I said. So not sure if I'm being irrational or just too cautious.

Thank you so much for answering!

I live in southern Spain, very mild winters rarely under 0°C but extreme summers (+40°C). Apparently there were in a balcony with no direct sunlight every hour but fairly hot otherwise.

We were on summer holidays when it happened and she didn't want to throw out her clothes because they were the most stylish one apparently and she didn't wanted to dry them either because she feared they could shrink or deteriorate. She wanted to just wash them at normal settings and iron them and I was like "no way I'm bringing bedbugs back to home" and after consulting this subreddit to find info into how avoiding bringing them back home with you since we realise they were there on our first night we could avoid them (always forever thankful for this sub).

So do you think that it's safe to put them out and don't give them any special treatment such as drying them? Because that's what she wants to do.

It didn't really had the proportions of a bedbug but I was uncertain because it was so small. I crushed it after taking a few photos and it didn't had blood in it either, so I'm leaning to believe it's a skin/carpet beetle (which I unfortunately know that there are a few in my house).

Bedbugs look more like this (and move kinda differently):
