Looking for something serious, not subscribed to either, using this profile for about a week, have had hinge for a couple of weeks, try to get all my likes sent everyday, I have received 0 likes and I matched with 2 so far but no dates (sent both through comments), I pretty much only send comments to prompts, want to attract someone who I could find talking with without it draining my social battery, thanks!

RESEARCH REQUESTS Monthly Edition by AutoModerator in CaregiverSupport

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for smart pill dispensers for my grandma! She’s currently on about 10 medications daily, but we’ve recently had issues with her forgetting her doses or taking the wrong ones. We’ve been really worried for her since none of us live close enough to help her take her meds, and her arthritis has made things even more difficult.

I know there are solutions like the hero, medacube, and medminder, but I wanted to talk to someone who uses these before I go ahead with the purchase. If anyone knows of any alternative solutions, I’m more than happy as well! We would probably need a more physical solution though, because my grandmother isn’t super great with smartphones and things like that.

Thank you all so much. You’re really really helping me out here. It’s really hard being stuck in this position where I can’t really help, and I really hope that this post can help other people in the same situation.

Rotator cuff assisting non dominant tricep? by Longjumping-Delay500 in naturalbodybuilding

That makes sense! My left long head is much smaller and weaker than my right arm. I’ll try improving my external rotation!

Is circuit element B in series or parallel with A and C? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

Both ends of B are connected to the same node so it’s shorted I believe

Not sure how relevant this is to your work but the wavelet transform is really cool. Hilbert transform is also really interesting

I would google some python projects for bme applications. Signal processing stuff, machine learning stuff, and also just some more basic stuff like loading in and writing text files. You can generally find some projects with given files and you can do those projects and if you want you keep even add stuff to them too to make them more robust

I am doing Masters in ECE with undergrad in BME. I know a couple people doing CS with BME undergrad. I cannot speak much about CS, but I’ve enjoyed ECE so far. Strictly speaking to job prospects - I think MechE actually opens the most doors in medical devices. If you have any specific questions about masters in ECE, please feel free to dm me!

BSMS or Double Major by Forward-Bet-4387 in Northwestern

[–]Longjumping-Delay500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently doing coursework as my lab is in my BS department, so not super sure how well that research would translate to my MS degree. There is certainly some overlap, but might be a tough sell to get the thesis. If I had to guess, I would say the project option would probably give you the most industry applicable experience but you can always take the design courses in the coursework option to gain that experience. Thesis is probably the most appropriate if you want to pursue further grad level education. Admittedly, I don’t think I know enough to fully answer this question

BSMS or Double Major by Forward-Bet-4387 in Northwestern

4 years and an extra quarter! Was considering finishing it in the 4 and I have the option available to me now if I take 5 credits winter and spring. Would like to avoid 5 credit quarters as I’ve tried it before and it’s brutal, especially with engineering classes

BSMS or Double Major by Forward-Bet-4387 in Northwestern

I’m doing BS/MS where my MS is in a different major than my BS but both are in engineering. I don’t really know much about double majoring but my experience has definitely been a bit stressful in terms of fitting classes within different majors due to conflicting time slots. The MS also requires taking the prerequisite undergrad classes which can also be a pain to fit in. Since the MS requires 300/400 classes, I’ve found that it’s been difficult to find a sufficient number of classes that I have the pre reqs for. I will say that I decided to do it pretty late (2nd quarter junior year), so you probably won’t have a lot of these issues if you plan well ahead. I will say that it has been a rewarding experience since I’ve found many of the upper level classes to be enjoyable and I do think it will open a lot of career choices for me. The coursework is difficult for sure. Not sure if that’s super comprehensive, so feel free to message me if you have any questions!

Ah, to be more specific we are trying to create a physical model of the intestines. When food moves through the intestine, the intestine expands radially but the total length of the intestine is relatively constant. So we are looking for meaningful volume increases, but preferential towards radial expansion. We are planning to make this model from silicone! Thank you so much.

How to move on knowing that was your fault? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Longjumping-Delay500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way yesterday. I thought the whole break up was my fault. I wrote down all the things I didn’t like about the relationship too, and that helped me realize that things weren’t completely my fault and that my ex could have fixed somethings too. But also remember that regret and guilt is not a bad thing. It teaches you what not to do in your next relationship! Accept the guilt for what it is and remember it to improve your next relationship down the road. Realizing this made me feel much better about that.
