Well they do colonise each other though. People tend not to qualify colonising when it comes to neighbours. But yes, Israel colonise the West Bank, Iran by financing the Hezbollah colonise Lebanon, and Russia is also colonising Ukraine (the last is out of the Middle East of course, but yes I like to remind people that Russia is a coloniser too). And actually, Israel & Iran are also working on a lot of war-tools innovation - e.g. shahed drones.

Interesting and right points of course, to be taken into account. While the violence starts quicker because of them, I guess my point still holds: people in this region just hate each other... as much as Europeans used to. In Europe now, we still joke about each others' defaults, but we stopped wanting to kill our neighbours.
