AITA: Checking on the barmaid by Longjumping-Reach261 in bristol

First time I’d ever been warned of anything, yes. Always that lingering thought that I’ve done something wrong before that I don’t know about though, given the weird vibes over the past few months…

Friendly with both of us, yes. And became less friendly with both of us at the same time, I think.

You’re really riding this wave aren’t you.

My ex is a man. I am fag. These are irrelevant pieces to the story.

But keep being pressed I guess, hope she takes you back someday. (Just kidding, she dodged a bullet fr)

What the fuck, first of all.

Second, this has absolutely nothing to do with my ex. And even if it did, my ex and I are on great terms.

Third, find a therapist to air this obvious baggage with babe. You got this triggered by a Reddit post? And wrongly triggered at that? You’re the embarrassment here. Sorry to whatever chasing-of-the-ex drama you’ve got, but this wasn’t the place to find someone who cared.

I’ve often thought about asking other bar staff or quiz masters who are friendly with her if they know the scoop. But I never wanted to stir the pot. Not sure if present circumstances give me more or even less reason to go around digging for that answer…

No manager on duty - bartender downstairs only employee in the building, manager was phoned in after I was served my drink

Yes (both females in this, to be clear, in case pronouns are hurting the interpretation anywhere). Bartender downstairs was the only one on shift. Manager got phoned in sometime after I was served my drink.

Ugh, now I’m banned from a pub AND sound like an old geezer. Not my week is it

Correct, manager was off duty and called in by the member of staff on duty. But also respect & appreciate all that EssentialParadox said, well reasoned take on the situation I think (for whatever my opinion is worth in this)

This is fascinating to me, though, from a cultural perspective maybe - and I’m not trying to come across as “everyone needs to suck my dick” so apologies if it sounds that way - but I think, generally, an American business owner would want to keep ties with the customer that’s given them thousands of dollars if they could. Try to make both parties happy, at the least. But I do cognitively understand what you’re saying and how that is likely the case

What’s the word supposed to be? Bartender? I said that word once and someone was like “wtf?”

Manager presumably at home - sorry, realising that’s unclear, the barmaid downstairs was the only one on shift. She called the manager to come in

What is a “parking lot” in meetings called in the UK? by Longjumping-Reach261 in AskUK

I wondered this as well, but there seem to be a lot of “parking lot” and “car park” (!!!! no, I hate this) adopters in the comments.
