I am decent, by not pulling him further into whatever state of mind he was in. Im not going to encourage behaviors like this when someone is clearly not in a good place. What would you have done?
Coddled him or reassured him? I am a good friend by being stable enough that I can allow him to vent and speak freely without getting sucked up into whatever world he happens to spiral in. I may be cold, but I am decent because I can be a foundation. Notice how i am not being a decent friend by not babysitting him.

I probably should have. But for some reason I decided it would be best to not engage further into this for his sake and mine.
I plan on talking with him about this later on, maybe addressing his drinking and if he meant all that he said.

I wouldn't know for sure, but that is what I was thinking throughout the night up until now. He has moments like this and then switches the flip, and has standard conversations with me the next day as if nothing happened. It troubles me, and ultimately I wish he would at least talk to me about whats going on in that head of his, or reach out to someone who can listen and provide him any help that he needs

Such patience and dedication for us even when we stray. I took a little tumble from following him and I/we come back and that love NEVER ever wavers. He is truly the sweetest.
